cc33 Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Ever since I sold my Franken 6265 I've missed it more than I ever thought I would. I was going to make a 1655 as my next project, I even aquired a gen service dial hands and bezel for it but decided that I rather have a daytona again. So I sold those parts and started buying up the 6265 parts that I need. I have finally got it all together and am just waiting for phong to get back from his trip on oct 1st to get it all put together. Here's a preview.. Specs: phong case, new gen p302 pushers, gen bezel, gen 702 crown/tube (threads are good but seems really used and over polished), tropic 21 sd and beveled (not sure which I'll use) roamer v726 movement and a gen big red dial that has seen better days but is original and has lots of character imo. I think I've found gen hands but we'll see, I don't have them yet. I am really excited for phong to get back and get it all assembled for me, my usual watch maker can't handle retaps..
woof* Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Very nice cc! I love the dial, much more character that the usual

danielv2000 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 You were my inspiration, I've been in a daytona coma ever since seeing yours in person Glad to inspire! I'm kind of glad you did not have your Big Crown that day as it might have pushed ME over the edge.
roliroli Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Good luck, this will be a wonderful watch :-)
mjmj Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Wow!! Can't wait to see the finished piece.
dieselpower Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Looking good! Can't wait to see the results. If I may be so bold - given the price of the ingredients don't you think it would be worth spending a few $$ on a better crown? As you said that one is waaay over polished. Just my 2 cents.
jtiis Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Still kick myself every now and then for not buying your last offering. Happy to watch this unfold... or... fold up as the case, crown and movement may be.
ceocorona Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Definitely going to be an exciting watch to see built!
