Pugwash Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 The Seahawk fulfills most of the criteria...! [...] All in all it's the perfect candidate...... Seeing as it's apparent my first choice is already on the cards, I'm going to cheerlead this one now. Why? Because Neil put a convincing argument together and so far, apart from my Aquatimer rant, no-one has really said why we should support their choice. Oh, Neil, you say you're a little upset at the unoriginality of the choices? Really? Remember that these are the people that will buy every single noobmariner you can get your hands on. Is it that shocking really? So, come on folks, if you want your choices to be listened to, be realistic like TTK says, and convince us.
t Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 yeah TTK SEAHAWK has the best arguments... big available in steel or titanium or gold available with different dials available with different bracelet or straps automatic movement price range is good GP is a respectable manufactur it´s new on replica market for all tastes but this power reserve position makes problems
slay Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Ok, then I use the same argumentation. Lets do the PLEASE-INSERT-WATCH-OF-YOUR-CHOICE-WITHOUT-COMPLICATION, because its just the perfect candidate and fulfils most of the criteria!

r11co Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 no-one has really said why we should support their choice. I didn't think I needed to justify mine. Big watch, not too weird looking, complies with the movement limitations (exceptionally well), the genuine is a feasible buy as a design buck, plus it sells exceptionally well in Japan due to the F1 connection so it will have a good market outside our little clique.... Bugger it, I'll just buy a gen.....
tag Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Forget Louis Vuitton / Tiffany or any FASHION watches..... I disagree. I didn't choose LV for its brand. Ok, I agree: I would prefer if it were from another house, with some watchmaking clout or with a more sporty image... But the watch is just gorgeous. Tiffany is not bad, I like Chanel style also... I don't care of the brand. If a timex looks good to me, I'll get it. Unfortunatly, most low brand watches are plainly ugly, and many luxury watches are gorgeous... But why paying $3000 for an ETA powered thing??? That's why I have an interest in reps.
Richard Tracy Posted December 2, 2006 Author Report Posted December 2, 2006 Okay are we in agreement that so far the below three watches are in the running ? 1. Sea Hawk 2. Blancpain 50 Fathoms 3. Vintage SM 300 If there is a push towards another that I missed,..please underline it again, and as they say, sell your point. We still have two more days to discuss this. As we talk this over however, I think that we should strive for a medium area, between sizes, sport & dress and brand awareness. At least for our first chance at this. In other words, nothing too large, something that can be worn on all occasions, and a brand that is known and sought after,... or what could be the first in many builds for us, will turn out to be our last. I don't think that Jay will be too happy with us, if he dumps a huge investment into a watch that only sells to a minority... If anyone disagrees... please, make me see the light....but keep the future in mind, and see this as a seed that we must make grow,...
slay Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 My suggestion would be to sort all of the mentioned watches out that could be done with either a 6497 or a 2836 / 2824 / 2892 and then put all of them up (with pictures of course) and let all the members vote. This would be the fairest option IMO. Also I dont think they can do the power reserve thing so easy on the Seahawk, and as far as I understood this, the watch should be as easy to produce as possible.
Craytonic Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Could we do a poll on those 3 with the stipulation that people only vote if they intend to buy?
chrono903 Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Here's my choice. The x-71 bracelet is awesome.
halley Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Blancpain 50 fathoms has my vote, with SS/rubber case & bracelet

shultz Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Could we do a poll on those 3 with the stipulation that people only vote if they intend to buy? Good idea! Let's turn the corner by a final poll on those 3 watches!
ryaku Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Why don't we add also this watch to the poll? I'm sure it'd be one of the most appreciated replica ever.
