dbane883
I "needed" a new variable speed grinder. But the sander was an impulse. Thinking of trying to use it as a lapping machine using some 3M diamond lapping pads.

Oh man, HOW MUCH I understand you... I went to the point that maybe I'm a tool-fetishist... Every time I enter in one of those places to get some bit/tap etc, I go home with 10x the expense I should have had...

dbane883
I personally don't see anything wrong with him, he seems pretty "normal" to me!! I need the disk/belt sander combo... Ha. I looked at the combo as well, but I needed the deck on the sander to adjust to less than 90 degrees (at 0 the deck is perpendicular to the grinding fence) if you know what I mean. All the work feed decks on all the other sanders cannot go negative.. Only obtuse angles. The Delta was the only one with a rack/pinion deck adjustment that could go from -45 degrees to +45 degrees. Fact it was on sale and they threw in a free work stand was the tipping point.
