rolojack
Almost done !!! My 1655, ready to show. I still have to tune up that sec hand as it's too long, and source a better thinner GMT, but overall, it's not bad now is it? Cartel case, SK crystal, gen crown, PolexPete DWO, Ingod dial and custom hands. ETA modified so the GMT hand is not adjustable anymore, as per gen. Basically no part has been used as is. The dial has been relumed and revarnished, the DWO has been slimmed and correctly brush finished, the midcase, bezel and back case all undergone deep modifications. Back case thinnered as dome was too high, mid case thinnered as well, CG modded to match the dial, and bezel rebrushed for a more gen like aspect. Yeah, but it's also a pain as only when you load and look at the pics will you see flaws you actually did not notice in real life ! It's the game ! When you've seen those, you have no choice but to re-dismantle the watch and rework what has to be done !
polexpete
Great work Rolo, this is one of the hardest reps to get 'right' and you've done a splendid job. C'mon guys give the man some credos, i built two of these so i know how hard they are to do .. Great pics too ! Thanks for sharing P.
denimhead
Very Nice Mr Rolo. Best am 1655 dial ever made in my humble opinion. Shame the buggers disappeared! M
Kime
Wow that is beautiful. Great shots too... I have a rep that I bought recently from someone who bought it from denimhead and I aim to mod it... where can the "PolexPete DWO" be found? Also where was the straight second hand from? I also think the folded band looks nice on this, not often seen... is a rep?

I still have one of your DWO left, and I'm saving it for a DRSD.... I have sanded them and made a correct sunburst brushed finish before coating them with 4 layers of matte varnish. It's not that hard to do and it changes a lot !

The straight hand is homemade : pinion is from the original hand supplied on the rep, and the hand part comes from a watch parts dealer in Paris. I had to buy 15 pcs by the way.... If anyone wants one, let me know ! They are gold tone.

The bracelet is made of 2 different cartel reps, with WSO enlinks (modified of course for a perfect fit) Aside from the lack of date on the upper clasp blade, it is near flawless

Bc1221
Ah. I knew it looked familiar. I've seen the polexpete dwos. By far one of the best vintage dwos. Congrats again. It's a beautiful watch

rolojack
Thanks. It will be dismanteled soon as I am not happy with the dwo finish and the hands... I will see how a perfect gmt hand could be made.
