lhooq Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Wow! That would've been a Fifty Fathoms price a few years ago!
Nanuq Posted December 12, 2014 Author Report Posted December 12, 2014 Roger that. My Black Lung is my retirement plan... as soon as it hits $3,000,000 it's SOLD. St. Tropez here I come!
alt.watch.obsessive Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 American? (This joke used to be Canadian until their money became more valuable than ours.)
panerai153 Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 I'm afraid this one may hang around for a while!! Not sure that any Doxas will bring that price except a pristine Conquistador or T-graph with box and papers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nanuq Posted December 12, 2014 Author Report Posted December 12, 2014 Agreed, that's really pushing the envelope. It has a few problems, who knows? Maybe in 10 years. Of course in 10 years a Big Mac will be $15.
Mike on a bike Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Had to post that now looking at Doxa's again.............. Like 10 gen dive watches are not enough for a guy who doesn't dive.
Aero_Dave Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 I'm afraid this one may hang around for a while!! Not sure that any Doxas will bring that price except a pristine Conquistador or T-graph with box and papers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, I really miss my T-Graph. Should have never sold that one, or the GMT Sharkhunter either. Dave...
panerai153 Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Yeah, I really miss my T-Graph. Should have never sold that one, or the GMT Sharkhunter either. Dave... Something about the contemporary Doxas that never really resonated with me. Don't know why, as I like the old ones. I had both of the new version T-Graphs, as well as a GMT, a couple of Caribbean's, and several of the other new versions. The closest to the vintage, the 1200T was a keeper for a while but eventually, it got sold or traded. I have probably had 15-20 Doxas, and all I have left is the old pre 300T dive watch that's in Peter Millar's Book, a Coralline that my wife owns, also in Peter's book, and my old 300T Professional US Divers. The only one that I would buy today if I could find a "steal" would be a vintage 200 T-Graph. , Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nanuq Posted December 13, 2014 Author Report Posted December 13, 2014 There's a silver Sea Rambler on the 'bay right now at $299, just needs a service, and looks complete.
Resistor Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 Black Lung is such an unfortunate name for a watch. Makes me think of a miner's watch rather than a diver's watch.
marsupilami Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 I should restore this dial I found in my drawer.
Nanuq Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Wow, the details are all there to make me think that's a gen... that would make it #14 worldwide that I know of. Shame it got so damaged! I can hear it saying though... "yeah you shoulda seen the OTHER guy!"
Nanuq Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 A lot of wishing on the seller's part.... Realistically its a $4,000 piece as it sits, because.... 1) it's iconic and, 2) there are only about 14 of them in the world. Interestingly, 4 of them live here on RWG. 1
Mike on a bike Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 "Interestingly, 4 of them live here on RWG. :tu:" Of course...................
