Thank you all :) I am very very happy with it, particularly knowing that in it's heart beats genuine Rolex.

Here's another shot with some post-processing clean-up I didn't have time to do earlier.

Lovely pcg! Like the effect of the sd plexi and the 700 crown - and of course also the case work.

Noob question from me who still am poor at inserts, what type is the one you have here?

mid-font / 80s / "mkIV" or whatever it might be called would explain the boxy 4, sorry for letting this go out of topic btw...

Whatever they told you about your insert (MK III mid font, MK IV whatsoever) - it's not made for a 5513.

Looks like a 666 sapphire insert.

It does the business without breaking the bank. One needs to make decisions when building these things...gen movement that gets entirely rebuilt using original parts...or period correct insert. I know I need to improve the hands and insert - but decisions had to be made.

That IS a genuine 5513/1680/1665 insert. Just google "5513 midfont". May not be period correct for a PCG, but it could have easily been a service replacement.

It would not fit on a sapphire watch.

Thank you for helping to clarify!

By the way, as you can all see - I am in need of an aged pearl for the insert - if anyone has one that is readily mountable in the insert and will match the dial patina - please PM me.

So I did a bit of aging to my insert on the 5513. I used a dremel tool "fine-detail abrasive brush" then polished it a bit.

These are ultra high res pics taken with a Canon DSLR so it really shows everything. I took an iphone shot as well. Less harsh looking in person, and I'm happy with it, the black gloss of the insert is gone, it's a little barked up - and now looks the business of a 50+ year old watch.

Tell me what you think please!
