bigtommy79
Hi, I'd like to share some pictures on my new AP dual time power reserve. Recently bought and was very pleased. The rotor fell of but it was a quick fix for a local watch smith. Does anyone know what movement it has? I'd like to hear everyone's comments. How long would a watch and movement like this be expected to last? In case anyone is wondering it cost 1,050 Saudi Riyal which is approximately £175 or $280. Comments please! Thanks Tom
djunky
wow looks amazing Wear it well... Is it from one of the TD's in here? -DJ-
508-Fanatic
The logo looks high on the face - as does the date - likely a symptom of the movement? Do any of the features work or are they fixed in place?
ceocorona
If you bought it from a TD the movement would have been stated. If you took it to a reputable watch smith he would have been able to confirm that. I am sure the movement will outlast the gold plate on the watch. bigtommy79
I bought it from a market in Dubai. Everything works as it should, even the power reserve. Going to wear it on special occasions only I think. I am worried about the gold plate wearing thin too, although I was told it would not. Had several comments on it already and only worn in out a couple of times. I will check the logo on the face to see if it high or not.
martijnp
I think it's a 21J movement mate. I had the same in SS: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/169844-audemars-piguet-royal-oak-dual-time/
Mike on a bike
Wear it sparingly the gold will wear and if it's a 21j should putt along nicely. OH by the way do not like gold but this one pretty nice , wear in good health.
dinokun
the RG if it fades and the edges starting to turn black, what can be done to fix this?
Legend
the RG if it fades and the edges starting to turn black, what can be done to fix this? You can get a local jeweller to replate it. But having said that, I had a few rose gold reps and they have never faded on me.
panerai153
most of the Rose gold trhati have seen are pretty well plated. I have am AP RG Diverand a RG ROO and both are still lookng like brand new. I wear the Diver pretty frequently, the ROO Chrono less frequently. If you take care of it, i would expect that you could expect get a pretty long life from it.
shhs0173
Why do replicas have blue screws inside the case?
theflyingdutchman
With daily wear, max 4-6 months and the gold will wear off at the braclet first! Nice watch even if the gen has a cloased case back.
Pauly404
Nice watch.... Gold plating is always a worry though.. It's thin on most reps
bigtommy79
Thanks for the comments guys. I will let you know how it is in 4-5 months time. I have a small problem with it though, after the rotor fell of and the watch smith screwed it back on the rotor is very slightly tighter than it was before, it still rotates freely but not freely enough to allow it to self wind any more. Any ideas why this might be?
panerai153
No idea about the rotor, I just wanted to comment on the S/S one in the link above. Although I like the gold, I really like the S/S. Also for comparison purposes, here are a couple of photos of the genuine. From the looks of the photos, the AP is very high on the gen as well. The gens have a closed caseback as well.
