Hi

I am planing to build a Vintage Daytona Fap 6263

Would like to show my idea and would be happy about any inputs from you Guys

this is how it should look in the End:

Base Watch will be a Cartel 6263 like this: http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_214&product_id=1048

Crown + Tube from Athaya

Dial from Phong: (it is the only dial I found without the daytona Writing on it... even tough it is quite expensive 450 USD) other options are very welcome!

To install the Dial I will use this way: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=145508&highlight=MOD+6263+CARTEL+GEN+DIAL

So what do you think about my plans? Do I need to replace the pushers too? Any benefits of it?

Bezel replacement? (Phong charges 350-450 USD... too much for my budget)

Any help is greatly appreciated

Have a great Weekend

Phong's dial is made for a v72 movement, so it will not fit your cartels movement, which I believe is a 7750  :hammer:

True. He could get the version with the ST-19 and fix the hand though.

You can make an offer for Phong's dial through the eBay store. Can get it for a little less. Be careful QC'ing the printing.

Really wish DW was around and not flakey. His old batch dials were great.

Beware phong has two different quality dials, high end ones are 700-750 USD

Thanks, but 700-750 is way more than im willing to pay... It is more or less my budget for this watch

I have a no Daytona ROC dial from DW's first batch if you're interested....

sent you a PM about it.

Any oppinions about the pushers? Do i need to replace the cartel ones?

  • 3 months later...

got a great dial and the base watch until now...

I was looking for a crown... reference guide is saying oyster twinlock 600..

Kindda having trouble finding a good replica option or a decent priced NOS/Used Gen...

Any suggestions? I am ready to pay 100-150 USD for crown+tube.
(can I just use any 6mm rolex crown with the line under the crown?) sorry about this noob question

The 700 crown and tube ran from 1960 til maybe 1970. Gasket in the case tube and one in the crown at the base of the stem holder.

702 had three dots, hence trip-lock designation. Two gaskets in the tube and one in the crown. Ran from early 70s til a 1980 or so.

703 has three dots on crown and four gaskets- two inside case tube and one on the outside and one in the crown.
