Legend Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Guys, this member has been banned, for purchasing a watch from a member here, starting a paypal dispute over a contentious "defect" and never returning the watch to the seller after getting the refund. He never responded to any of our messages, so here he is, hung on the wall of shame for all to see.
kernow Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 What are the rules regarding posting his PayPal details - it would stop him returning under a sock id and also deter other potential scammers?

Sogeha Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Due to the nature of this hobby we are all likely to get scammed at some point. Here is a wild idea, if we all chuck in a Dollar or whatever and form our own insurance. If you pay you are covered. Mods decision final?

That is a good idea actually.. Let me bring it to the drawing room and see what they say. I guess we could at least display the pp address with some of the letters replaced with ***.. 1
Propofol Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 Yeah but you can flip the email adress attached to Paypal easily...

Example: Someone who is covered by this insurance is victim of a scam of 500$. 50 user (which I doubt we will reach) paid 5$ each to the insurance. This will cover only half the loss and the pot is empty then. What about the rest of his loss? What about the next? Has anyone to pay 5$ again. Should it be on a monthly base? Who is going to handle this? How can we make sure that there won't be an insurance fraud? I'd say way too many question marks to make it work and a big burden for the one who will be in charge.
Sogeha Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 Sadly I am forced to concede all your points. I guess the start is working out the total value of sales per month or year and working a premium from there. I have some idea how to calculate risk. Probably there is a member who does it for a living.

How many cases (frecuency) in one year have we had with the average amount of how much??? I'ts doable if we all get in to it. @Sogeha you should come and work in insurance with me by the way 1
Mike on a bike Posted September 24, 2016 Report Posted September 24, 2016 Guys insurance idea sounds nice but administration is a bitch along with a host of legal issues.
