Rolexman
Can't wait to get my hands on one of those. Looks very nice! watchbus.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3865&extra=page%3D1 video:
SSTEEL
The Chinese never cease to amaze me with what they are capable of when it comes to movements, I just with they would improve components in their current range of modified movements to make them more reliable. I wonder if the Chinese will attempt to replicate the chime/alarm movements in time? That would be an micro mechanic marvel.
nikki6
I had the jlc master compressor and it had the alarm built into it. I sent it to@hackR as it was one of his grails. Very nice watch. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
swdivad
Wow, the prototype is now reality and it's up on Puretime's site for $428... Looks damn good too. With these reps, I believe the Chinese are trying to woo the high end [genuine] market to move their manufacturing from Shinterland in order to make their stockholders happier. panerai153
Pretty interesting. What surprises me is not their talent for replicating, but why they haven't tackled really popular movements like the AP sec@12 or the Rolex sec@6 movements. If they ever built some worthwhile replacements for the crappy modded a7750 in those watches, they would sell like hot cakes.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ubiquitous
Well, it's certainly not for lack of complication or intricacy! This Breguet movement is pretty good indication that complex movements can be reverse engineered and duplicated. Rather, I think the Valjoux 7750 base movements for sec at 6/12 have staying power because... Well, they sell. And if they sell as-is, there's not a lot of motivation to change that, right?
automatico
It looks good. If they can make this and 'retail' it for $428 (manufacturing cost probably around $150/175), it makes me wonder how much it cost the swatchies to make a real one. My guess is $2000USD plus a little for a gold or platinum case. Breguet = one of many swatch sideshows. Not knocking it but it reminds me of the insides of a Big Ben alarm clock. Gold costs $200 troz more than platinum so why do plat case watches cost almost twice as much? It sure as help ain't the cutting tools.
nikki6
I think Ubi got it in a nutshell, 7750 is cheap for them to make and they can squeeze seconds @ wherever they want because we buy them in there hundreds! 1932polo
Jesus! this damn near perfect! "breguet " should be engraved not stuck on the movement, lug screws should be flush on the sides. besides that! WOW! if i could get hold of a croc strap I think i would pull the trigger on this! ubiquitous
Almost bought this one over the weekend! But the more I looked at it, the more I realized that there were details that I just couldn't see myself being able to live with. Things like the position and placement of the balance cock and the sort. It's damn good and very close... But things like that... Once I notice them, that's all I'd be able to see. And that drives me crazy.
eunomians
I gotta say that going to the Breguet store here where I live is quite a treat. Seeing these movements in person is astonishing. So many watches on display! The price tags on some of them are just plain nuts. But wow, the Fusée movements are breathtaking. A few stores down is the AP store which is totally boring in comparison. Most of their watches are hidden, aside from the typical models. The Richard Mille store is also a few stores down. I frankly won't ever bother walking into a Svengali hype Barnum & Bailey PR machine store lol!
