If not, you'll find a link in this thread anyway. That IWC was (or is) mine. Why do I post about it again? Well because it is another nice experience with a respected member of this community. That's how things should always happen: share, share, share Pug and I, as many other members of course, have the same watch: the Iwc 3717 from PT. We do realise, like everybody else, that the day/date wheels are misaligned but, more important, not correct. The print quality is poor. So the idea is to get correct day/date wheels from somewhere. That is where Monsieur Euno helped me a while back and saved me hours of search by providing the parts numbers at Cousins in the UK. Thanks Monsieur Euno. Here is the information if you need the parts for your IWC 3717: Item: Valjoux 7750 Date Indicator 3 o'clock White Figures On Black Background Reference: VAL775025571WB3; Unit Price: £3.70; Unit VAT: £0.65; Quantity: 1 Item: Valjoux 7750 Day Indicator 3 o'clock White Figures On Black Background ENGLISH Reference: VAL775025611WB3; Unit Price: £3.00; Unit VAT: £0.53; Quantity: 1 So, while sending some PM back and forth with Pug he suddenly proposes to install them for me… Wow, cool experience. It's a deal and here we go. I send the parts and the watch to Pug. The translant Better than any description, you can discover Pug's first watch work "pinned" by following this link: Pug's post: tons of pictures, rather be on high speed! No way I could add anything interesting here Waiting, waiting, waiting… Now, once the work has been done, Pug sent the watch back to me of course. This is the painful part of the story, really hard time Usually a watch needs 2 working days from UK to Belgium. In this case it took around …3 weeks :cc_confused: Sit back and imagine how Pug and I felt What would we do if the watch doesn't arrive? As a matter of fact, there was a strike in UK's post services. I even imagined that a british postman discovered what was in the package and decided to steal it. Anyway, after sweating a bit (hmmm, a lot in fact ), all is fine and the baby crossed the channel New pictures Well there are a lot of pictures of this watch out here. I can't see any reason to post 50 more, but here are the fresh ones after Pug's work. Conclusion Pug: you rock. I would like to thank you but also point out that you have serious balls. Working on another guy's watch is quite risky unless you've done it hundreds of time (which is not the case I believe). Congratulations for that. But not only: congratulations for the work itself. As an example of your great work, there is not a piece of dust inside the watch. No scratches on the dial or hands. As I have had some of my other watches opened. I can say that I do not always receive them back without dust. And that s*cks for sure when you discover dust on the dial itself while shooting a picture . I know, you do not really want to become a watchmaker. But, if you decide to do so, I wouldn't mind sending some of my watches over again. Cheers and warm regards, Stephane Nice background isn't it? And, as I always say: loosing a watch (stolen, seized, lost...) is both party matter. It's part of this game and hobby to share the risks, at least with members or "non cartel collectors". RG Is this likely to assist with day/date alignment issues in the Cousteau or is it just a question of improved font? At the moment the only thing holding me back from buying (or "pulling the trigger" for anyone wondering what buying means ) the Cousteau is the alignment of the day/date which seems to vary from picture to picture... Can't argue that it transforms the 3717...but that's mostly an improvement in the font IMHO. I was asking about the Cousteau where the font seems OK but the alignment is variable, and was wondering whether this mod would help the alignment. Anyone??
