ryyannon
@lanikai, Hopefully @Ry, The link is only visible to VIP's. All other members should PM one of the admin team for this info! offshore Yes, in re-reading Administration's first post, I saw that (having forgotten in the first place). But I believe that the instructions* are still valid - meaning that there's no need to PM a Mod for the address.... *"This time you can either chose to support RWG via a donation or upgrade your membership to a VIP membership. Because of the recent paypal-problems, I will not share the address where you can donate in public. Just send me an empty e-mail at give@rwg.cc and you will instantly get all the details you need. VIP members can use the link presented below, only visible to VIP members."

ryyannon
I still think it's the gesture that counts more than the actual amount - especially if you've already upgraded - and even if you haven't!

Watchmeister
Perhaps others are single-handedly supporting ten kids, a wife with a crack habit and all their in-laws, and perhaps still others can't understand English, but I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority are just riding along without giving much thought of completing the circle and giving something back. Hey sounds like me. No crack addict but multiple wives, family, five kids, etc. So that's not a valid excuse.

Admin
First of all, let me say thank you to the members who have donated and upgraded. Upgrading your membership and making a donation is of course completely volunteer and it will always be that way. No members should be forced into donation and we all have an economy that may vary from month to month. But I also do not think it is fair that a very small percentage of the members here fund the forum. Also, a lot of people do in many ways contribute great stuff with their reviews, guides, etc. and we all appreciate that (Mabye not enough. Remember to use the "Thanks-rating" when you see a post you like ) But I have to admit that I am a little bit disappointed this time. We've had 1163 visitors here since I started this topic. More than 400 members have read this topic. And the result: 20 members have donated and almost all of them (90%) are already VIP members. 7 members have upgraded their membership. Out of the 1163 members who have visited us today, more than 800 of them are regular members. Please understand that I am not asking for a large donation here. When we have so many members who visit the board daily, it would only require a minor donation from these meners to keep this board running for a long time. The only thing I hope to gain from this is not to have any costs that I have to cover. Yes, I know there are those of you who think this is not your problem; since I started the forum, I should also be prepared to pay for it, the forum should be free, the forum should be funded by the ads, etc. Well, i would love it if that was the facts. I would love it if we could fund the board by ads only. But with the number of people that click the ads, we are nowhere near this forum being funded by the ads, so this is unfortunately not possible. jkerouac
Done. At least now the list stands at 21. The last week and particularly the last few days have been unbelievably hectic for me (some of which I hope to share in the next few days with my friends at RWG), but I can still find time to donate. In my opinion anyone who has purchased more than one watch in the last year based on the insights and knowledge shared in this forum owes donation of at least a 5% or 10% of the purchase price for the value they received here. The friendship and entertainment are all super bonuses. Just think, without RWG many of us would have nothing to do on our computers but work and download porn. World Traveller
It should be simple for people to figure out the value of this forum. Just think to the first Aha moment you had reading a post here. Remember how easy it is to get a question answered or to find a part or just the right watch for just the right price on this forum. The forum and the people who run it need help now and it is time for people who have not donated but have benefited to ante up. It does not have to be a big donation but if members who come here and gain so much without having given anything financially would give just a little that would likely be enough. I have seen that it is the same people pulling the wagon all the time so at the risk of pissing people off I am calling the free riders out. Give now! Cheers I agree, I came here in the last month and I love reading the forum and I also have received some very helpful tips, especially regarding the watch links that were stuck on my Tag Heuer Aquaracer. This is a good place and I will pitch in to keep it running. Paypal is BS though, we have to find another way to do it. Many sites have had trouble with paypal over the years where they stole their money. here are a few alternatives: http://www.bidpay.com/ http://www.neteller.com article discussing alternatives: http://www.workz.com/content/view_content....content_id=6856
Admin
Thanks again...2 more VIP members added to the lost of donators. @World Traveller There are alternatives like moneybookers and others. It's just that PP is the prefered payment method among the majority of members PS You can also donate via moneybookers to epay@rwg.cc

Febus
Count me in, email sent waiting for reply. I'd like to add maybe this thread should be a sticky at the top of every forum on the site. I nearly missed it despite visiting over the past few days. Maybe other people did as well? So we get money from all the adds that are shown if we click in them, as long as that site appears in our computor the forums gets money whether we buy from them or not? so if i click on 5 adds in a day the forum gets 1 ct (for example) per click??????????????????????????????????????????????//

I nearly missed it despite visiting over the past few days. Maybe other people did as well? I just noticed this is a sticky at the top of every forum and I still missed it. How about making it flash and 10 times bigger for those of us who filter everything out other than the stuff we're focussing on? You could also add a splash screen during the login process. I can't believe more people won't contribute if they are aware.
