KB Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 What I am after here is basically what we had on the old site, a pictorial of all your dream watches and with very little chit chat. So to get this rolling..... Zenith Chronomaster" (El Primero 410 movement) Vacheron Constantin Platinum Patrimony Contemporaine Hublot Big Bang Vintage Patek Philippe Ken
KB Posted June 3, 2006 Author Report Posted June 3, 2006 I'm surprised noboy is having a go here, this was a very big thread on our old site. I'll have another go at kick starting this....... C'mon everyone lets get this thread going. Ken
episaacs Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 This is my current grail watch... one version already posted here.
swdivad Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Wow... I posted a reply but it didn't show Maybe I hit the preview instead of submit... Anyway... Ken, you have great taste (except for that Rado thing ) Numbers 1 & 2 really do it for me, I definately have a weak spot for Zenith... Here is my favourite, the Zenith Chronomaster Open Retrograde:
ubiquitous Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Some of my favorites for eye candy... Speake-Marin Piccadilly: Philippe DuFour Simplicity: Prototype F.P. Journe Remontoir: And, if pocket watches count... G.P. 3 Gold Bridges Esmerelda
vric Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 I'm with swdivad. I really like Zenith watches...
By-Tor Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 (edited) Yes...those watches are beautiful, especially the Zeniths. But the big question is: would you WEAR watches like that? I know I wouldn't. Give me Ubiquitous' vintage Seamaster, vintage Navitimer or GMT Master any day over these. The only watch in this thread that I'd consider buying (if I had the money) is the Hublot Big Bang. Ok, maybe the Zenith Chronomaster... although it's far from being my favourite model from Zenith (give me a Flyback El Primero any day over it). Dunno... these are all in the verge of being "excessive bling" watches for the Sultan of Bruinei. But of course, different stokes for different folks, once again. PS: Gotta admit that UN (Tellurium?) looks amazing (from the horological point of view). But what's the time? Here's a "real man's" Zenith for you (something I would LOVE to wear): Edited June 3, 2006 by By-Tor

fkhill33 Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Here is my fav watch. Nothing to do with its value or movement or anything, just looks pretty. Cheers
bkatbamna Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Love that Simplicity. That Capeland S is actually affordable.
thomasng Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Soon to be mine, the Patek 5970 in Rose Gold reigns supreme for me:
cornerstone Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I wonder what that box set would cost? US$400,000 / AU$533,000. Sell the house and move to SA!
Brian Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 The | moon-phase display is computed so accurately that it deviates only one day from the true | synodic lunar orbit in 1000 years, provided the watch runs accurately and without interruption for that long. Because of this extreme precision, the display is not set to the correct date, but instead - with the help of an exact moon-age table - to the correct hour. Lange's watchmakers incorporated this amazing astronomical mechanism in a movement that is only 3.85 mm high and has a diameter of 27.5 mm.
ubiquitous Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Ahhhh... RGM... How could I forget Mr. Murphy? His creations are masterpieces! I love his gorgeous engine turned dials... Without a doubt, one of my favorite watchmakers.
Brian Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Ahhhh... RGM... How could I forget Mr. Murphy? His creations are masterpieces! I love his gorgeous engine turned dials... Without a doubt, one of my favorite watchmakers. I think they are located around Lancaster, PA, about 5 hours from me. I've been half thinking for a bit to take a weekend & head out there to check it out. They have a more affordable line that's pretty good looking too. Some day, maybe . . . B
