Modded MBW 1665 DRSD (2nd attempt!)

dieselpower

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As some of you may recall, I recently had a bad experience with RBJ and got ripped off. Well, I have spent some time (and $$!) collecting parts myself and found another modder and would like to post photos of the latest incarnation of my MBW 1665 DRSD to hear your valued opinions.

The list of mods/parts is as follows:

Clark T39 superdome

Rep bezel insert

Ofrei pearl dot

Subtly aged dial

Ubi datewheel overlay

Slow beat ETA movement

Gen crown and tube

Aged case and caseback

Rep hands

I will wear the watch daily and hopefully acquire some natural battle scars to complete the authentic 30 year old look!

Diesel, the 1665 looks to be about 1000% improvement. Very nice work!.

I suspect the OEM crown/tube is slightly better than the after market $%&#@ that was recommended by the original modder.

If you tire of the rep rivet, try a vintage hollow mid -links bracelet which looks more authentic, IMO. Otherwise, just wear that beauty and enjoy.

Hi DP,

It's a pleasure to share your happiness in finaly having a very nice looking DR.

Congratulations.

Me too I would like it to be a little more vintage...but would not go as far as Nanuq recommend...

1 days in the dryer should be enough

Cheers

Stephane

Diesel -- Looks outstanding & I agree with Jetsons - 1000% improvement. NOW it's starting to look the way a gen vintage Rolex is supposed to look. I would also agree that you would do well to toss that rep rivet bracelet out & replace it with a gen folded or hollow link Oyster (I think the additional money spent here pays off) or hollow link rep Oyster with gen 93150 clasp or just a good rep hollow-link Oyster.
