Chinese can copy anything ... Cars

The Chery Amulet is a pretty nice looking car actually - it's like they modernized the 155, one of my favorite Alfa Romeo.

However, judging by how they behave in accidents, I certainly wouldn't want one... unless to end up like the footage on Signal 30!!!

As for motorbikes, I can vouch that the genuine is better. Back in my hometown, a replica of Honda/Yamaha motorbike is prevalent. Market is flooded with chinese fakes which look really the same. However, you'll be surprised about the engine quality and parts quality over time. Simply reliability is at stake here. They just can't last as long as the real thing.

And yes, it does accept genuine parts (including the engine).

I remember these fake cars from a while back when the Chery qq came out as a blatant rip-off of the Chevy Spark. GM actually proved that doors from the QQ fit a Spark with a perfect seal (so yeah, I guess you could make a franken compact car).

My favorite is the Shuanghuan CEO, which is almost identical to the BMW X5 from the rear. It can be ordered from the factory with BMW-style headlights, grilles, and EMBLEMS. I guess that's the Ultimate version?

That's frightening :o

Why do they even bother fitting airbags into something that just folds up when it hits something.

Maybe they think if they run into someone in China, it'll be a bicycle...

@Kenberg: Check again. I'm pretty sure it was 64 kph, that's why I wrote 40mph. :)
