Slartibartfast
After tinkering with my Explorer 1655, and getting a great amount of satisfaction from the process, I have to admit to have been bitten by the modding bug, so....... I ordered a cheapie vintage sub 5508 from watchsilix to pull to bits an improve my 'skills' So here we are, a brand spanking new sub from silix Pic As Original sporting an olive Nato First up was to replace the crystal with an item from Cousins. I measured up the original with calipers, and ordered the closest I could find in their acrylic domed section for the princely sum of
Justasgood
Well done and very informative. I would be proud to own and wear that Sub. Nice job!
FxrAndy
Nice Job, if you could mod that bezel to a coin edge it would be the finishing touch.

Martyd3
I bought an old rock tumbler (for polishing rocks) off of the bay. I put in a combination of rocks, some sand and a few nuts and bolts ... it works great. I would keep an old crystal on the watch and protect the crown before tumbling. It works wonders on case and saves wear and tear on your dryer http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ROTARY-ROCK-TUMBLE...1QQcmdZViewItem

POTR
Nice job... I missed out on a big crown for my "ugly sub" for under $40 this morning on the bay... ...was too busy looking at this to remember to bid.

chrgod
Good work! It really looks like an old, but cared-for watch! I have the same sub, as a future project. I hope the Air-King you bought from me are kept out of the tumble dryer, though!
