kasigi Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 We went to a wedding today, I wore my LV Sub and Young Master kasigi wore my Seiko Orange Monster on the rubber strap and loved it. He's a big lad for his age and it didn't look out of place. I'd like to buy him something along that line, I'm even tempted to get him the same watch of his own but it's a bit more than I want to spend. Any suggestions on something cheap and cheerful (gen, not rep) similar in lines to an Orange Monster or is that really the best sort of thing I'm going to find?

Birdman Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 IWC aquatimer with Alarm and rubber band from Joshua
kasigi Posted June 17, 2006 Author Report Posted June 17, 2006 IWC You don't think that would be stretching the bounds of potential realism a bit? An eleven year old with an IWC! K.
robertrinaustin Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I would check out a Swatch. They are fun and fairly durable.
oswald Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Seiko diver. I'd probably get him a quartz. It'll last for years.
KB Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RARE-JAPAN-SEIKO-SC...1QQcmdZViewItem They usually go for under $100 Ken
sonystyle Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Id spend a bit more and get him the Seiko Orange Monster. Even say its a Summer/Birthday/Christmas/Mow-the-lawn-all-summer gift Because its a watch thats going to last a really line time, he can keep it all through out grade school and highschool. Those 7s26 movts are super durable... Check out Ebay you can get an Orange Monster for 100 USD usually $15 for shipping. If you get lucky you can find one on Stainless for that price.
vric Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 I would get a quartz Seiko. They have some nice one. or an Omega Orange PE with orange strap.
marrickvilleboy Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 just get him what every kid at 11 years old gets: CASIO! He'll learn to appreciate the art of watchery, and upgrade as he gets older, don't make him skip steps!

I get the feeling that these days every 11 year old gets a mobile phone instead
Lollipop Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Tip: Never EVER give a kid a mechanical watch, he will break it within minutes. G-Shocks are the way to go.
