Greetings all,

Just have a quick question that one of our more experienced members can answer.... I ordered a rep from Andrew at Trusty. No problems during the transaction and am waiting for my package to be delivered to the US. I have read that the tracking system is less than accurate and not to freak if there isnt a pinpoint, GPS locator of exactly where it is. No worries, as I checked about a week after I was notified that the package was sent and in the 'status' area, it read " Arrives in USA" at 0832 and " Handed to Customs" at 0833. That was several days ago... Is this normal operating procedure or something to be concerned about?

Any input would be apreciated. Thanks in advance!

Nothing to worry about at the moment, after you have bought a few reps you will get more used to the postage delays. Sometimes they have a backlog and it can take a while to get to you from the customs clearing depot. The wording on the postal sites does sounds more harsh that it actually is. Also sometimes the log will lag behind reality and not be updated, so it may not say it has cleared, yet you get a knock at the door and the postman has your package. Hope it arrives soon.

This is a typical tracking from USPS... at times they may forget to "scan" the parcel .. as I am sure it left LAX sometime yesterday.. thsisdoesn't happen often,... I should be recieving it today actually ..mid-morning

This would be an example of a parcel that was not "seized".. but held for 30 day's to be sent back to the sender for improper documentation... so if your parcel is in the inbounds mod from customs and is posted there for a week and you have not recieved it... then you may recieve a letter informing you that the item in question will be sent back to the point of origin.. unless you provide proper paper work... do not respond in anyway shape or form... the parcel will be sent back to the dealer..

Note there is no info as to what customs did.. it jus will not come "outbound" from customs.. this is the original USPS post btw

Andrew I'm sure will honour the rep. ... this is the worse case senerio.. I'm not trying to be a dark cloud.. but it does happen every once in a while.. you are not in trouble with customs .. just the anxiety of waiting.. but we can't worry about something we cannot control so .. or this may not happen at all.. but if it does remember don't reply to any letter ..throw it away.. you will get your watch ..

PM me with the county of origin and your location if in the USA.... there is something going on and I am trying to track the problem or other influences..thanks

sorry for the stress -_-

OK.. that's what I was wondering,.. the only place where Logistically it could of landed and be taking so long is SOSF... they have a long History of dragging their tail ends.. and legally they can hold the parcel for 90 day's.. although they rarely do this .. most times it's 1 to 2 weeks.. I had one package held for 30 day's until SFO customs released it.. but they did release it..

that's why I like LAX.. in and out...

the Good news is no one will be knocking on your door.. they jus like to play the game in the Bay area sometimes.. all will be well ..

the alternative is to order another rep and tell andrew LAX please... that way you'll get one then 2 when SFO releases the first..

I know I'm not a great help.. :D

The lesson I've learned is this:

Order one watch at a time and they usually come through customs quickly. I ordered 4 watches recently, and they sat in customs for 20 days, got opened, and I got assessed a $275.00 tas bill. Heavy packages draw attention.

Someone slap some sense into me and tell me "There's nothing to worry about. All will be fine."

Purchase a Breitling Colt off of T4D at RWI. Fast Shipping. However, damn thing has yet to be released by cust.

- Your item is being processed by United States Customs. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

- Inbound Into Customs

- Inbound International Arrival, October 03, 2008, 10:01 pm, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS)

- Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

Usually, these things are in and out in a few hours. Never had an issue like this before, so why now :(

Anyone else have any similiar issues with Chi-town ?

Yeah it happens. I've had them held up to 4 days (counting a weekend)...as fast as 3 hrs...and average is 24-36hrs in Canada.

I know last week was a Chinese holiday (not sure which one) so maybe they shipped thousands of packages all at once at right now USPS is just a little backed up scanning each of the package? I know another member on RG said he is experiencing the same thing that I am, so hopefully this is the reason.

What country? How was it shipped? Odds are good you'll be fine...just be patient and give it at least 2 weeks. You'll probably need much less...but it's a good margin.

I am waiting on a rep that has been in Dallas for the last 10 days. It's driving me crazy.

Sent from Thailand.

This sucks... is Dallas typically slow like San Francisco?
