I found out yesterday that I have held U.S. Citizenship since I was 13 and did not know it. When my mother naturalized in 1980, I automatically derived citizenship from her. I now hold dual British/U.S. citizenship and look forward to voting for the first time in my life. Just wanted to share with my friends.

@JoJo - LOL! Gotta love George.

Well it now turns out I am a triple citizen! My parents were born in Belize, formerly British Honduras, a colony of Britain. As such, Belize citizenship was conferred upon me as a British Subject in 1981 when Belize gained independence. In the span of 24 hours I have gone from having one country to three. :D

Excellent news! Now you can actually VOTE all those misplaced and wrong minded political opinions you hold! :tu:

Ain't America great?!!

Wow, what a great day, LR!! Fill out your N-600 if you haven't already! (Link)

I'll tip a glass to you this evening at dinner for sure, my friend.

Thanks Chief. I have filled it out already, as you can see it is costing me a very good rep. :) Money well spent.

Yes it is. :)

It IS awesome news! Now, I hope (I think) you are in a contested state...so at least you can feel like your vote matters. Have fun in that voting line!

Congrats! Now when you're going to the US, it'll be much more convenient.

I can't wait when I can get Portuguese nationality through marriage- I just need to wait another 18 months or so.

Congrats Lord ! :1a:

I wish I could find out something like that to avoid the waiting at the imigration each time :(

Any New York lady looking for a wedding out there ?
