greg_r Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 A ridiculous amount of money for a rep. At that price I'd be looking for a used gen....
patinga Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Is it just me, or are these prices spiraling out of control.
peyups Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 They didn't get the right rotor attachment right like on the gen swiss 7750 mvt still.
Rolexman Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 They didn't get the right rotor attachment right like on the gen swiss 7750 mvt still. Because they used the Asian rotor...
peyups Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Hmmm.. Why not have the swiss 7750 rotor engraved?.. If only the carrera doesn't have a see-thru back case it won't be an issue thou.
Guest TheDude Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 And i was told i paid too much for my Carrera at $470 which is apparently Swiss movement. (according to the website anyway). Amazon are having a hell of a watch sale at the moment and there are brand new Tags on there for less than that
bigpops Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) Not a watch i'd buy anyway, but for that price ( Edited October 27, 2008 by bigpops
AMK000 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 New Swiss Carrera Check the price. :o They ain't gonna sell a damn thing This is insane. Almost a 60% of the price of gen new.
By-Tor Posted October 27, 2008 Author Report Posted October 27, 2008 :o They ain't gonna sell a damn thing This is insane. Almost a 60% of the price of gen new. Exactly my thoughts.
hyster Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Even in the UK a used dealer example could be had for
yellomen Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 insane! And the rotor still looks like an asian rotor, so it still looks like a fake...
pollux1 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 When are they gonna wise up? When people stop paying such high prices, simple really!
HauteHippie Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 New Swiss Carrera Check the price. Hilarious.
strattakan Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 probably a unique piece made for a client who for some reason not bought it.
Pugwash Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 You've got to laugh. King is selling the same one for $900+ claiming it has a 7753 in it. Ha. Ha.
importr Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) Yeah it is far too expensive, for what it is. Even my ETA powered Carrera cost less: Carrera Racing rep $260 (incl. rep rubber & steel straps) brand new regulated Valjoux 7750 $414 brand new genuine TAG rubber straps $100 some other parts (hands set, gasket etc) $35 Total : $809 Edited October 27, 2008 by Importr
robertk Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Well, it helps to have a sense of humor about it. I'm sure the absence of buyers will not surprise even Josh.
Toadtorrent Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Holy Crap that's a high price. This is a new release with the Swiss movement and the bracelet correct? If I remember correctly, the other Carrera's only had the rubber strap.
importr Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 as far as i can remember the bracelet was repped and then offered with the Racing when it was first released nearly 2 years ago?
vric Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 :o They ain't gonna sell a damn thing This is insane. Almost a 60% of the price of gen new. Yea.. we said the same thing about the HBB at $1k but yet, they have made a dedicated website for them.. Don't underestimate the stupidity of the world... I mean. Some are ready to pay $600 for a Canal Street Rep off a scam website... worst they might get 2 of them.. Huge deal for a Rolex ! P.S. I love this place
