alligoat Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 That's a beauty, T. Where you guys come up with all of these great gen parts never fails to amaze me. Great job.
Mickey Padge Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Looks fantastic as always Maybe needs a little more bleach work on the insert, it looks quite new still? Cheers!
freddy333 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Tribal - Not sure about the date font, but the watch is the usual work of art from a very talented craftsman.
Tribal Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Posted February 3, 2009 Thanks guys, for the Insert I like it more like new The Datefont is taken from a gen Datewheel andv the numbers have serifs as it should be
Mickey Padge Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Yeah , I suppose it is a gen insert, so why mess with it I just like the look when the gloss finish is very slightly lifted, for a more satin look....
lazarini Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Good as gold T :=) Wearing my 1665 its a wrist magnet... cheers Laz
Cats Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 That's a great looking watch Tribal I didn't expect anything less from you Wear it well. Carpe Diem Cats
its_urabus Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 thats a grail peice for me. thanks for the amazing photos...
GSmaniac Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Nice! My Bond-Nato is dreaming of a Watch like this! Every modded 1680 or 1665 are welcome Brother Regardz GSmaniac
vlydog Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Great photos of an amazing timepiece. I am comparing it to my great white that is sitting on my wrist at the moment. Everyone should own one of these. Thanks for sharing.
dieselpower Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Great stuff D. Just for the record my DRSD is on my wrist (still) and never misses a beat. All members who do not own a 1665 should sell their grandmothers immediately to purchase a decent one with all the right mods. After all how long is your grandmother going to last? A decent 1665 will last a lifetime and you can't get better value than that
rolexmaniac88 Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 always been a huge fan of the GW Sea-Dweller ! A splendid work for sure !
Tribal Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 is that an MBK dial? Yes it's a old style MBW Singer Dial
mjmj Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 its beautiful. Do you know where I can get a flat top 3 date disc for ETAs. I have emailed Eurotimez and helena has informed me that they have run out of flat top 3s for the moment and dont think that they will be making any more.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 when you talk about varnish on the dial do you mean the matte spray to reduce the shine?
Tribal Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 when you talk about varnish on the dial do you mean the matte spray to reduce the shine? no,there is no shine on the Dial it's matte. Varnish gives a nice structure ,like on a old Dial I will post a macro shot of the structure that u can see what I mean.
freddy333 Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 As Tribal said, matte varnish adds a gen-like texture to the dial face
cib0rgman Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 @tribal Where can i get one of those insert. I had been searching and searching but no luck at all. Also what did you do the the HE to make it look like that. Regards
highoeyazmuhudee Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 As Tribal said, matte varnish adds a gen-like texture to the dial face thanks for the example freddy thats what I thought I just asked the question wrong
Tribal Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Thanks Freddy, yours look exactly like mine btw Great SD @ Ciborgman I had a suppiler in the past for Rolex Parts When you look at the Insert it has the bold numbers on it and this is really rare. For the HE Valve it's an easy mod just pop the Valve in with a hammer.
