Guys

Being bored is never good when you have tools and no talent, so I m waiting for the secs @12 EOD to be made and decide to botch I mean mod my angus special. Started thinking how to add the 12 oclock marker its only 1mm by 2mm, bought the smallest paintbrush from a model making shop but had an epiphany while playing with the cat. One of his wiskers came out a while back and the misses kept it. Et voila a tiny paint brush ideal for details, not sure if the dial is going to make it needs a second coat tomorrow so will have to wait. So back to topic -

whats the weirdest thing you ve used during a watch mod ?

And to add no cats were harmed during the modding of this watch :)

Cheers,

DH.

I've got a pair of tick removers which are great for getting hold of movement clamps and other intricate parts :)

All joking aside, I do use the blade of my Swiss Army Knife as a springbar tool if a watch is on a strap (and has springbars :D ) :)

I recently used about a 1.5 mm screwdriver to manufacture a new pearl for my chrono avenger. Yep, that little pearl is all that is left of the screwdriver!

Nanuq: WTF are you doing to that Rollie and what did it ever do to you?

I know lubricants require warming in your part of the world but that's a bit OTT :)

One time I had to use the suction cup base of a Johnny Holmes life like dildo as an improv case back opener.

Not quite as risible as dildo jokes, but I picked up a tip from Pugwash a while back, to use post it notes to aid hand installation. Stick hand to gummy bit of post-it and use post-it as handle to assist placing hand onto movement.

Works at treat!
