cornerstone Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I came across this in the watch news section of the site (we have a news section - who knew?), and thought it deserved special mention. I need say no more, other than to make clear that this is an actual watch that you're expected to want to buy:
nikki6 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Gotta love Diesel for their stylistics huh?!? lol. I've yet to see a diesel watch I would let anywhere near my collection!!! Good clothes though! Sixx
TeeJay Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I came across this in the watch news section of the site (we have a news section - who knew?), and thought it deserved special mention. I need say no more, other than to make clear that this is an actual watch that you're expected to want to buy: Er... Um... I... I.. ah... I actually quite like that... It looks like something which would have been worn as a prop on 2001 or UFO, and I have to admit, I do have a softspot for the design aesthetic of that era [Edit to add] I would likely never actually wear a watch like that, but, I do like the design
its_urabus Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 that watch is awful yes, but at least the maker was able to do it and still have the date center in the window, and its 10bar WR...
dluddy Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Er... Um... I... I.. ah... I actually quite like that... Why does that not surprise me TeeJay... Must be he artist in you
aneki Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 It's... special alright. I'm usually happy when people think outside the box, I'm not so sure anymore.
ubiquitous Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I'm a big fan of Diesel jeans, but I think that's about it.
TeeJay Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Why does that not surprise me TeeJay... Must be he artist in you I'm a huge fan of the sci-fi shows and movies from the era, and to me, that looks like something which would have been a prop in such a show Okay, I can't imagine Ed Bishop wearing one (if I recal, the watch he wore in UFO was a gift from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson), but, I could certainly imagine Gabrielle Drake wearing one on the moonbase...
jkerouac Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 that watch is awful yes, but at least the maker was able to do it and still have the date center in the window, and its 10bar WR... Conisdering the pastiche of "design" elements they used, I think centered date window is actually a mistake. Since it seems they were going for a patchwork Frankenstein effect, the date window should have been off center.
maxman Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Looks to me to be someones bastard child Im just trying to figure out who's, WTF.??? I like the there cologne Mike
cornerstone Posted June 6, 2009 Author Report Posted June 6, 2009 Reading TeeJay's post I'm beginning to think I may have inadvertently invented a new psychiatric test..... I'm not sure what it's testing for, but I'm calling it the 'Cornerstone Psychiatric Assessment For TeeJayness'.
TeeJay Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Reading TeeJay's post I'm beginning to think I may have inadvertently invented a new psychiatric test..... I'm not sure what it's testing for, but I'm calling it the 'Cornerstone Psychiatric Assessment For TeeJayness'. At least I can justify why I like it It's all about context... It's not like I'm all "oooh, where do I get me one of those!!!1"
coolfire Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Goodness me... they should stick to their jeans....
Pre V Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Anyone for a half-baked timepiece? this looks destined to be a talking piece... "Excuse me, did you design this watch by yourself? "
ChipSlap Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 It looks like it was designed by Pablo Picasso in about 1913.
maulermacall@hotmail.com Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I found a diesel watch in a gym locker the other week. Suprisingly nice, I handed it into reception. I waer diesel shirts and belts and thought why not a diesel watch. Cheap and a large range of styles. If anyone can find me a link or the models name and code I'm going to get it and I'll promise lots of pics and a full review.
RickHiC Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 how tf can they offer 10 bar of WR with a split case design like that? That is crazy.
TeeJay Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 how tf can they offer 10 bar of WR with a split case design like that? That is crazy. The case probably isn't truly split, probably just a case of coatings to show different colors.
meatwad Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 See - if it had "11" bars then maybe . . . .
