  3. Another amazing build. I am so full of excitement as I write this thread. It is such a beautiful dynamic watch and it turned out better than my expectations. Specs: Noob v6s case Gen Dial - New Gen Insert - New Gen Hands - New Gen Crown and Tube Gen Crystal Highly modified Yuki3135 with bunch of gen parts And the most important and yet to be seen in any other sub franken, Genuine Rolex 97200 Bracelet. I mean the rep bracelet is good and all but the feel of a gen bracelet is just indescribable. Thanks to my good friend @misiekped. I couldnt do all these things without you! For all the poopers.. Could I have bought a Gen? ...... Yes Would it have made more sense? ...... Yes Is it in Gen pricing territory? ...... Yes Was the chase to source all these parts fun? .... Yes Was it exciting to build something? .... Yes Did I learn a lot in the process? .... Yes Did it turn out good? ..... You tell me! actually lol I dont care So all in all was it worth it? .... Hell to the [censored] yes!!

  5. With the screw head removed like that, there shouldn't be any pressure to hold the broken piece in tight. It should turn with very little pressure. If you can sharpen a needle to a very fine point you may be able to slowly work the screw out.

  7. There was a thread about shaping crowns to get the 702 look several years ago. Good luck finding it! PS: the gilt build looks great!

  10. Thank you for your very kind and fair comments. To be honest I do not know what happened exactly, as it happened before my time. All I know is that DW screwed him out of some watches/parts and as a result he couldn't deliver to modded watches to the buyer(s). I honestly do not know how much and how many people were involved then. I do agree, we should have a trusted modder list, official or otherwise. Whenever money is involved, there should be an indication of the trustworthiness level of the seller (or modder). Good thinking there. Carrying out the qualification could be tougher though, and I guess only through buyer/customer feedback could the modder reputations be built. Message crafted while riding a leathery juvenile T-Rex and charging toward the horizon.

  14. Bart. Cool! I've done that on a few builds and have wondered why more folks don't do it.

  15. Yup, you will need to replace the bridge plate, and transfer the gears across. Alternatively, replace the complete bridge with another with gears if you don't think you would manage to transfer the gears yourself. I have a special broken screw extractor which would get that screw on in no time, its something I use often, but irrelevant to a non-watch repairer.

  17. brilliant project... I picked my first rep sub (two tone blue like your gen).. and i'm really happy with it but dial doesn't shine. Now i'm thinking of changing it.

  20. Go for it. Our moderators know best, if they say it's good for the members then it has my vote.

  21. A further suggestion: if you go for the Noob v6s remember to get the one with asian 2836 movement (a tad less expensive and much more reliable) and not the a3135

  22. I've gotten better, bye bye hospital (well st least as a patient). Weird experience being the one to be taken care of, when I'm used to being in the other end. Thanks for all the comments. I've been through hell and back. Bonus: 2013 Pure Dominican perfection mated with my 6538-Ploproof Cheers, V
