  1. And another question... Which grit sandpaper do you use to rebrush your Rolex lugs ? I usually fix a strip of sandpaper on a wooden craft stick to get even lines. Just not sure which grit would be most gen like. Thanks in advance.
  2. How is the fit once installed ? I had to shave my gen 571 slightly to fit the Phong case, but once done the fit was awesome.
  3. Thanks guys. I think I'll send the payment. Seller looks legit and has sold Rolex items with positive feedback before. If this is a rep it's the most convincing I have ever seen.
  4. Thanks guys. Had my heart beating a little when I saw the new Phong bezel. But it looks like his dots are a little closer to the numbers (looking at the 200,180,160...) It's getting harder and harder to spot these things.
  5. I am about to pull the trigger on this little beauty. Looks like a legit 6263 Mk4 bezel to me. At least I have never seen a rep with rounded "S" in this quality. What do you think - Gen or Rep ?
  6. But who wants to pay soo little if you can pay soo much...
  7. $200 sounds about right. Got mine for a bit less but I bought a few other crystals at the same time. (You are forgetting the costs of a service for the movement...)
  8. Wow, he doesn't even use a little effort...
  9. Wow. If he ripped off Phong for all these cases he really is a piece of work. I hope he gets a serving of friendly fire one day.
  10. All taped out after the Phong case ? I ended up buying a full set, just need to find something cheap to practice on...
  11. Amen to that. My wife hasn't used any of her gen LV bags in years because every punk has them (real or rep). Unfortunately she does not let me sell them either On another note it seems the LV quality has declined to a degree where it really becomes hard to distinguish from a good replica.
  12. FGD only had a few limited runs in the past. From what I heard he has stopped for the time being. Your best option is to post a WTB thread.
  13. Looking good. I had the same experience with my NOS 571 endlinks, after shaving off a minimal amount of metal from the inner edges off the links (my heart was bleeding given the amount of money they cost me) I had a perfect fit. From memory others seemed to have issues with the lug hole positions but my case (early 80s serial) does not seem to have such issues. Still trying to find someone to re-tap the crown and pusher bores to take gen parts.
  14. Yep, only gen pieces I would say is insert and maybe crown/tube
  15. Anyone tried these for Daytonas http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MENS-OLD-DATE-SPRING-BARS-FOR-ROLEX-19MM-STAINLESS-1PR-/220789891600?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33681a6210#ht_3422wt_1141 ?
  16. Changed to 5514. Didn't think I could rock a comex but what the heck...

He still owes me a 6239 dial and handset. He always came through in the past except for my last order, which was missing the said parts. Some communication going back and forward promising replacement before I never heard of him again.
  18. Fake, and a pretty bad job on the vintagizing. Why destroy the lume on the minute hand and leave the hour hand untouched ? Main issues: - sub dials missing depth (probably DW) - wrong hands - incorrect date font - wrong CG shape, shallow engraving (looks like a DW case to me) I like how he just put a few nicks into the pristine case to go for vintage
  19. Noob is building watches with the lights switched off at the moment to not attract any attention. Pretty stellar job given the circumstances...
  20. The ceremony managed to under cut my already extremely low expectations. A lot of stuff thrown in there (i.e. NHS or the local hospital) is not fitting for an international event, hell it's not even fitting for a local event. It's like the US have the DMV as part of the ceremony. Mr Bean was the highlight of the event, which says it all. I was live at the Sydney and Beijing opening ceremonies and there is just no comparison. I take this was a case of "revenge of the Irish" as Danny Boyle, the director of Irish descent really embarrassed the British lot
