  1. I bought one from that ebay seller. thread HERE: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=84764&hl= as for tools: ive bought off ebay with no problems but found a local shop where i buy from now 'cause i can pick and choose and see the quality up front. they sell pieces with prices similar to ebay, and the owner is great person and is always up for giving great deals.
  2. I was thinking of doing WOSTEP but was wondering the requirements. im currently in my 20s
  3. im not sure if the latest case (engraved rehaut) are the same.
  4. the noob dial isnt correct but certainly the best out there (for now) the bracelet isnt that bad, it's that DAMN clasp stamping, the crown looks terrible, i've pondered taking some sand paper to mine to 'erase' some of the deformations, and just chalk it up to 'normal' wear if asked.
  5. 4813 also makes a nice high speed spinning sound. :| this can be controlled with some grease on the bearing ETAs kind of do, you can hear it turning, but i've heard of some that are silent. maybe they become silent after some wear and gunk build up.
  6. which font is more correct for the 16610 out of those two?
  7. HEH MY bad. im asking which to choose helfands, or wholesaleoutlet, compared ot the GEN as reference, since i cant source a gen bezel insert. whats the next best thing. i've heard both mentioned.
  8. Hm which insert to choose? Helfands (Florida watch) Pic #1 (looks sharp and crisp but BK doesnt use these) GENUINE sample pic #2 (perfect of course) Wholesaleoutlet Pic #3 (what BK uses but i find maybe too bold a font, and i hear the dealer is a [censored]) *ignore the quality of the pearl as this will be replaced anyways.
  9. he doesnt sell the correct datewheels anyways, and the quality of his ETA hands are highly suspect. anyone have any feedback on the quality of them? i'm now looking at the clarks ones which look better proportionally and are also sharper looking, as for the datewheel i might just transplant, save some $$ since the Canadian dollar is NOW going down the toilet.
  10. in 50 years a pepsi gmt or SD might be worth something. anyone think the LV will be sought after in 50 years? but in that time period with inflation you might as well just put the same amount into a GIC today. i dont collect for resale value, but it is nice to know it'll hold most of its value
  11. Anyone know where to source the Rolex font Datewheel for the eta2836? or this a matter of thinning and gluing the dw from my old asian2813 while on the topic of parts how's the quality of replacement hands offered on ebay for the tudor 2836 movements, i think wholesaleoutlet sells them or clarks... are the MBK ones better? any dealers offer these individual parts?
  12. they used to carry Rolex and Omega, any one know why ALL locations dont any more?
  13. for that price, just buy a new clarks crystal brand new, less labour, where as the old one may never be the same again. you cant undo something thats missing, you can only grind it down or fill it in. go brand new
  14. its NOT a clone OR swiss, i believe it to be an ETA from their far east factory, still gen using their equipment and QC. thread w/pics: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=real+eta i bought it from "bandmaniac007" on ebay. 100% feedback sells at least one of these movements a week with no complaints about the authenticity. you be the judge. but a Clone will still cost you 75-80$ nickle etas are going for over $100 -$150, so i took a chance and it runs well.
  15. the sheen looks fine to me, any other shots to share, centered over dial perhaps? my question is more about how well the shape is after planing, did you find it easy to maintain the orginal shape of the ring and how well does the dial edge look against the rehaut ring? im planning to do mine soon, but was going to skip the dremel due to control and hand sand with 400 -1200 grit paper.
  16. they're BACK online! problem averted i guess...
  17. the 2813 is usually silver in color, and 4813 is gold, no?
  18. i regularly frequent the bay looking for a no date dial to put in my sub. i think thats the only option to mod a date to a no date sub.
  19. the epitome of bad business practise. thanks for the info Short of gen which crystal to go with? which comes closest at this point? Clarks im assuming?
