  1. Caseback Hard to get, there is some luck needed, Best contact would be DSN as he is the only one who seems to have (had) them.
  2. My only comment to the designers of this and every other "Big Thud" is: Read the First name on the Company line of your paychecks phonetically!!...It describes ya'll to a "T"!! ;) Bivier IS that "Emperor" of fable!!
  3. Retired:.. Former, Bank executive, retail floor covering store owner, brew master, banquet chef, and I STILL can't afford all the watches I want!! ;)
  4. Seriously...Educate me...What makes this a $300.-380. watch...???....I have seen very similar APPARENT quality offerings for @ 1/2 that much...What does Dsn do differently than other dealers ?..(besides ship watches with stripped lug threads of course!!).. ;)
  5. That almost looks like my old 212 case!!...I wonder if the oversize CG's are big enough to cover up the chrono pusher holes..?? BTW..Marco,..what ever became of that 212...???
  6. I've got that covered well with my collection of vintage classic Hamiltons, Elgins, Gruens, and Omegas...But...I don't put a suit on anymore except for weddings and funerals!!
  7. No need to learn P/S....Just download Picasa II from Google...It's free, and a "no brainer" to learn!! ;)
  8. Simple fix.... just rub some neutral Kiwi Shoe polish on the affected areas occasionally....Works for me!! ;)
  9. BOTTOM LINE...: Unless you are the buyer, or the seller, you should STFU!!....This simply IS NOT ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!! Threadcrapping is almost ALWAYS done only by self righteous horses asses.. WTF are YOU to get involved in a sales transaction between two consenting adults ?? If you think the watch is overpriced, by all means...DON'T BUY IT!!! -_-
  10. My favorite macro lens was my Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro.....On my Canon 20-D...I now use a Sigma 28-90 macro/zoom, or my Sigma 18-200 OS, since I really don't need the extreme macro capabilities of the fixed length lens...
  11. Not MY experience after 20+ yrs using the stuff!!...Worst case scenario: A light rinsing under warm water TOTALLY removes ALL residue!!...(of course...water IS indeed a "solvent")Theories are great, but...experience is even better...
  12. I have a Dynamic chrono with the standard dial...Great watch until you try to find a watchmaker to work on its modular chrono movement for under $400.00 !!
  13. Wrights silver polish works great too on acrylic crystals....Also on gold watches(NOT plated ones!!)
  14. Next time, just heat the bezel up with a hair dryer just enough to soften the adhesive beneath the insert, then slowly reposition the insert to the right alignment(bezel high spot lined up with the indices)...This usually is a very small adjustment of a few degrees.... and there is no necessity of removing the bezel to do it...I know this because I did mine YESTERDAY!! ;)
  15. There are thousands of them here....Mostly in rep collectors "broken watch" drawers unfortunately!!.. ;)
  16. The search function is your best course....There are many(well several!!) very reliable strap vendors on this and the other rep forums... Most of the custom guys service primarily the Pam market, but they'll lead you in the right direction!!
  17. Last I heard, he was no longer "into" watches at all...Having moved on to fine art collecting... Walt made a lot of enemies in the WIS world @ 10 yrs ago when he did a scathing expose of Rolex quality control...I suspect that the post he made is still in circulation on the net somewhere...I always respected his talents and wisdom, and found him to be helpful and generous with his time..A real gentleman!! In fact...Here it is!!: http://www.timezone.com/library/horologium/horologium0036
  18. You want evil...??? The devil marked this one himself!!
  19. Most rep straps are basically poorly made...Remember...The seller is in business to make a profit, and he'll sell you ANYTHING that looks "nice", even if he KNOWS its crap... You need to go for an aftermarket strap like a Hirsch, or a Bob, or perhaps something from one of our rep strap vendors to get any kind of acceptable durability at a reasonable price......I've got @ a dozen brand new Panerai rep straps that I bought in bulk for @ $3.00 each...And I overpaid!! ;)
  20. I did the first course waaaaay back when Walter Odets was just beginning the venture....In fact It was FREE back then...I have been able to take several watches apart as a result....Reassembly, on the other hand is a different story!! But seriously, it did give me the skills, and confidence to do routine stuff, like dial swaps, and adjustments...My motor skills have deteriorated with age, (and carpal tunnel surgery!!) to the degree that I dare not go beyond those levels any longer... BTW...If you weren't aware....Walter is the son of the playwright Clifford Odets....
  21. It may have been DONE before the weekend,.... but certainly not with much success!!... I was having nasty flashbacks to the "dialup" era over there!!.. Hopefully, they're redoing the "server thingy".....
  22. I saw a guy wearing a Breit Bentley last week...I had a rep SFSO on...Later I saw him getting into a fukkin' BENTLEY in the parking lot!!...From my Hyundai!!....LOL...I don't think he was "one of us"....
