total "Two bagger"!!!....(one over your head, one over your wrist!!)...In case one falls off!!! ^_^ ;)

These bezels are unbelieveably tightly fit!!...I couldn't get mine back onto my 217 without totally destroying the plastic bezel gasket, and I had to actually glue it into place(temporarily)until I can figure out a way to redo it correctly without breaking that massively domed crystal...I think that this very tight fit situation puts a lot of stress on the crystal, and may be partly responsible for the rash of mysterious "spontaneous" crystal self destruct incidents these watches are known to suffer...

And here's the results... I was able to remove just enougth material to just get the pinion dead flush with the hand surface... good enough for my tire old eyes!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Wrat are the differences in a "Destro"217 and a Fiddy besides the position of the numbers on the dial...???..It seems to me the case and movements are not at issue here...??? :whistling:

I seem to recall somebody developing a simple press in stud to correct "shortpinionitis" on Pam's...I haven't followed up much lately, so has this ever been developed..???....Seems almost too simple!! :whistling:

oddly, I happen to be wearing that EXACT watch as I am surfing the Panerai board!! I bought it last year from the fellow who did the "deed"!! I actually prefer the less cluttered look of the dial without the totally useless(to me) tachy scale anyhow!! :whistling:

Another Omega vote... This one's on me today... not a "rep", but still my favorite!!

No markings anywhere I can see...BTW...the movement beats at 5/sec..(18000 bph), and the GMT hand sets independently by turning the crown in the opposite direction in the date change position...The hand stack is with the GMT hand closest to the dial... The movement keeps excellent time, and the GMT hand functions flawlessly, making just one sweep per 24 hrs...

This powers an ExII I recently acquired... It looks nothing like the Chinese GMT movements in my Seamaster GMT, or my Vintage GMT Master from TTK... Oddly the elliptical setup on the winding gear serves to disengage the gear when turning backwards, and the screw securing it has left hand threads..(which I found out the hard way!!..LOL) Anybody know what this is...????

I've got a "cherry" 39mm Aqua Terra (rep) case hanging around!!....Let me know...I'm looking for a couple of extra links for my UPO lite I just bought... Know anybody who's got some...??? :whistling:

Super bowl weekend was a "deal breaker" for me....It would have taken an Al Quaida death squad to get me to drive to the east coast that weekend....I really wanted to go, but I usually avoid that side of Florida like the plague during season, and the super bowl crowds sealed the deal...Sorry ....Frank

True!!!....I have an Omega Dynamic chrono with one of those "modular" movements, and I can't even find a watchmaker who'll open it up for less than $300.00....In fact that watch drove me to start buying reps again...WTF WANTS a gen watch that costs an arm and a leg every few yrs, just to make it run again..???...I went through that for 30 yrs with a Rolex, and I totalled up my expenses to keep it running for 3 two yr periods during that time as six times the price I paid to buy the damn thing!! :thumbdown:
