  1. Looks great, I ended up doing the same thing! I have one of your cases and just got the IWC skeleton from Joshua, The IWC is nice but I didn't like the case very much so I put it in your case for a big improvement. Those hands are very nice,,,,,,,,,,,are you selling them?
  2. I'm a sap for the bond/omega stuff, the only thing that stops me is the size and this bond po looks like a 45 which is perfect (except that it is way too much money). I've decided to go with the 45mm PO rep but can't predict if the larger logo will bug me or not.
  3. Exactly my thoughts. I'll probably do both and see which one I don't screw up (assuming I don't screw up both dials) thanks all for the imput,,,,,,,,,
  4. Until friday,,,,,
  5. Nice combo,,,is that a 45? I'm getting the 45 soon.....can't wait.
  6. The rep,,,and I'm pretty sure the gen do not have screw down crowns. The hand issue is strange. Obviously from TTK's pics the hands are perfect, but if you check the omega home page and the handout they give at the AD, the pics look like the hands are longer, in particular the min hand. Guess its a small issue to get hung up about, perhaps the official pics were of a protoype or something.
  7. They go for aound 1,000 USD used, I've seen them as high as 1400 and as low as 950, but they always sell eventually. They go for 950 new, if you get the chance to buy them, I missed the last open window for this.
  8. I'm stuck between creating a skeletonized version of either the 183 blackseal or doing a fiddy. For both I would cut away the inside of the dial so you could see the skeletonized 6497 and only leave enough dial to see the markers. The sandwich dial seems like a good choice since all I have to do is remove the bottom part with the lum and It's partly skeletonized already. Any thoughts?
  9. I'll take one,,,I know it will not fit my davidsen's case, but I do have a typical rep case that it will fit.
  10. Nice mm20. I've thought about getting one of these for at least a year but something always held me back. First, IMO, they should have gold hands not silver. Second, they have the recessed pin problem. third, the solid case back is not my preference, I need to see the movement. I'll still probalby get one because this is one of those few watches that if you get a decent deal, you can turn around and sell it for exactly what you paid for it. In a sense, you can wear it for a few months for free.
  11. Interesting pics TTK,,,I know I've seen gen pics that looked like the min hand went to the end of the markers but it could have just been the way the watch was angled, from your pics the hands look perfect. Also, while I do like the vintage look on this watch, there is something about it that needs a croc strap and I ended up ordering a dark brown one just for this watch. Here are a few more pics with some unusual company.....
  12. I had a base luminor from Joshua and one of Davidsen's case backs fit fine..
  13. It's funny the short hands never bothered me until it was pointed out. If anyone finds a source for gen hands let me know, I've checked otto frei but I don't think he has this size. The strap is a toscana. The cool thing about this watch is that it is very pam like, you can do vintage or a croc. I'm picking up a black croc for this one.
  14. here it is next to a 44mm pam
  15. I'm interested and would like to get one for my 201a from Davidsen. Is there any way to tell if this will fit one of his cases? I remember a comment that his CGs are a slightly different size as far as where the screws fit to the case.
  16. Thanks,,,,,nice review. I'm picking up the 45 orange Po from Joshua, this helped. The bracelet looks perfect, does it feel the same as the gen?
  17. Just got this a few days ago from Joshua,,,,,,,very cool and has 24 mm lugs so all the pam straps fit.
  18. I'm not sure what I'll do if this starts looking normal sized to me...
  19. Fine,,,good advice on some places to buy,,,,,,,,,,,,but which one do you pick??????
  20. nice strap,,,,,makes for a good combo
  21. I always keep an eye on the various watch sales forums and it really seems slow right now. I had a few watches I couldn't give away and I keep seeing reduction after reduction. Seems like a good time to buy one of those more expensive gens????
  22. LOL,,,good story. My wife doesn’t get this watch thing at all. I got my wife a nice rolex from Joshua and it is decent but any AD could tell its a rep. We took some of her jewelry in to be fixed at a high end AD and she holds her wrist out with the rollie rep right in the ADs face so he could put her bracelet on. I just walked over and looked at the FMs.
  23. As far as movements, I'm a beginner but I personally have found many differences in quality between a real, as in assembled in Switzerland and the Asian versions of the 6497. After my Pam 249 took a dump (The Zigmeister wrote up a review of the problems with this movement) I switched the movement with a gen swiss 6497 from otto frei. The decoration on the Asian was so nice I had to switch over at least a few parts. It turns out the bridge screws are not the same size, the gens are a fraction larger. Just this morning I was trying to put in another Asian 6497 and couldn’t get the case clamp screw in, after about 10 frustrating mins I figured out it was tapped totally incorrectly and no screw could fit in it. On another Asian 6497 the part of the case that holds the click down was the wrong size so if you tightened down the click screw, the click wouldn’t move. The movement is pretty useless right now. IMO, the extra quality control you get with swiss made makes a small, but noticeable difference. My task now is to find a source for a highly decorated swiss 6497 or 6498 (I have the railmaster coming soon and will likely change the movement).
  24. I wish knew how many hours I spent in my life working on eruption and spanish fly, I got parts right but never the whole thing. I'm looking foward to hearing it...
  25. wow,,,that very cool..........nice work.
