  1. After a 10 year stint in the military I went back to school for my masters in business. Yeah, I felt I needed more skills than killing people. Currently I work in the institutional/retial side of the investment banking industry. Boring really as they're not too keen on letting me blow things up now and then.
  2. I have a Ernst Benz that I need to get prepared to do strap/bracelet changes. I usually start with some meditation, then stretching and finally gear up with some sweat bands and verbal chanting. Still takes me hours to get it done. Like most of you guys, I just stick with one bracelet and not think about changes.
  3. ^^^ I'm actually with you when it comes to liking Seiko's. I've had a Rollie Sub and currently have a Orient Star 300M, as well as other Seiko's, and I'm so pleased with the thing that I'll never part with it. I plan to wear it to the grave.
  4. Been a Bimmer fan most my life. Owned too many to list.
  5. Display back! Can't wait to see it when it's done.
  6. There has been on ongoing argument, or should I say war, amongst people about which is an overall better diver. The Rolex sub vs. the Seiko MM. Do a google search and ye shall find. Personally, I like the MM and Sub for their own characteristics. I also think that the Seiko is rather cheap for what it is capable of. The hardlex xtal get's on my nerves too as the MM600 Spring Drive uses a saphire, negating Seiko's own reasoning for using it in the MM300, but I guess I could overlook it. The MM300 SD has been on my "to get" short list for some time now. On a side note, have any of you seen that custom Seiko for the space mission? Simply awsome!
  7. Wow! I'm in Seoul, Korea at the moment on a business trip and I'm glad I checked RWG. That is one outstanding combination. I never knew such a small change would have such a huge impact. Awsome.
  8. Can anyone give me Vac's e-mail address? I seem to have lost it. Thanks. z
  9. Well I can see how someone could think that, but I've yet to hear of it referred to as that. And I've been around Seiko fans for long enough to have heard that. Either way, it's a good watch. Solid and bullet proof.
  10. I've never heard of it referred to as a "black bullet" before, but it's commonly referred to as the SKX****. It's a very good diver watch and the 7S26 is a bullet proof movement. I think there might be something wrong with the movement from your description. With the cost of servicing so high it might just be better to buy a new movement and replace it. Good luck. Oh, if you search, you'll find loads of stuff on this watch. There's a cult following for this watch and it's well loved.
  11. Yes, very cool!!!
  12. I've got a box, yes a shoe box, full of crap/parts/cases/etc. that I've already ruined and I've only been in the rep game for a few months. No telling how big a box I'll need in a years time. Doh!!!
  13. Thanks for the reply NAV. So have you ordered from him before? I'm not looking to buy from him, but was just curious to know if he was a dealer people knew of.
  14. Like was said above, that's why we're all here. Certainly, most of us wouldn't go messing around inside of a $5k gen. So doing that with a $400 rep makes sense. I feel much better throwing out a $400 rep than a $5k gen. Good luck.
  15. Hey The Zigmeister, What's the possibility of Stallita movements being used in lieu of ETA's or clone movements. I've heard that Stallita and possibly other movement manufacturers stepping up to the void that's being created by ETA's decision to pull their products from the public market. I've owned a few watches with Stallita movements and as far as I was concerned they performed just as well as, if not sometime betters, than any ETA I've ever owned. Your thoughts? z
  16. Anyone know of have any info on this dealer? http://www.napleswatch.com/ I just ran across their web site and was just wondering if they're any good. Seems to have good prices and are CONUS.
  17. I'd think it would either move the inner bezel, if it is a moving inner bezel, or the gmt hand. Anyone have better info???
  18. Wow, I think it's awsome! Love the "tool" look of it and it's got stealth too. Like hike said, if you ever get bored again and want to part with that...
  19. Welcome! You should take the advice of the previous members and contact Narika. Dealing with customs can be big pain. @hike: buddy you've got the best avitar around!
  20. Wow, thanks for those pics! They really are milking their design aren't they? I almost shat myself when I saw that diver. Now only if they'll rep that model.
  21. For some odd reason the outside ring and numbers make the dial seem busy even though it reall isn't. For this design I tend to prefer the clean layout. My 2 cents.
  22. Unless the watch is a screw in case, which the fiddy is not, you don't ever need to remove the x-tal to remove the movement. That's why the caseback is there. You unscrew the caseback to get to the movement from the rear, or bottom, of the watch. If your bezel is not pressed in completely take a cloth so as not to scratch it and give it a firm press and it should just snap back in. Good luck.
  23. I agree. I hope they rep this one, but if they don't Longines prices are affordable.
  24. Wow that is very nice. Nice work sssurfer!
  25. Wow, they already have it. But does it talk???
