  1. Hi and welcome. ^^^ That is about the best advice any noob can have. I hope you take it. You will definitely have plenty of time later to put a dent in your wallet.
  2. I wouldn't say that all gen watches have good lume as I've seen a few that have terrible lume, but PAM's are known for it and the gen versions have a reputation of having lume that is almost "too" bright. So, since most are looking to get their reps as close to the gens as possible it's a common "upgrade". Not to mention that for lume freaks like me, it's just plain cool!
  3. Well as someone who's been "dooped" into buying a $450 Fiddy, with problems. I can certainly say that I could have used some helpful advice from other veteran memebers. It was my first rep ever and I purchased from a supporting member, which I thought held some weight around here. Unfortunately, I was wrong and I don't think I'll buy from another member that I don't know from experience. I even posted a link to the sale and politely "asked" for other members' opinions. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I wish that members took a more involved approach to such sales practices. I do understand that if there are no lies you can't do much, but for the noobs that show up here it would be a great help. My 2 cents.
  4. Why the difference in price? Are they from different manufacturers? sub, you and lani got me started on these Grahams and now I'm hooked. That CF is awsome and the quality is just amazing.
  5. I just checked on that HBB Tuiga and it's almost a grand!!! Ok, I know this might be a bit of a tangent, but where do you guys draw the line for reps? I mean for that money you "could" get yourself a pretty nice gen.
  6. I'm actually liking that black dial/yellow font one more and more. Depending on price I might try her out. I just got the CF and it's definitely the best reps I've ever seen. Not that I've seen a lot, but it seems like one of my gens. It's that good, so if the same people are making this one I'd put my money down. Plus I do tend to like the funky designs of the Grahams.
  7. I would stand up in a flurry and say, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" (Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men).
  8. Better yet which dealer has these for sale? Are all the HBB SS from the same manufacturer?
  9. I'd be interested in this info too. Thanks in advance.
  10. Welcome doc! Don't worry as most will admit that they too are on here way~~~ too much too. If my boss is looking. It's better than them porn sites.
  11. By the way, what is the size of that sucker? With and w/o crown. Thanks.
  12. Yes, I'd try contacting him as you never know. Good luck.
  13. Check out one of the dealers here Narika. He's EU based and does offer PAMs. Good luck.
  14. They didn't know about aluminum back then did they? Or should I say carbon fiber?
  15. Ha! I knew it! Drool over stuff on this forum long enough and some of the stuff has to stick via osmosis.
  16. I think you're referring to the middle eastern law where husbands can beat their wives with nothing thicker than their fingers.
  17. It looks like you have a Asian 6497 clone with a swan neck regulator and the sword hand, which means you got yourself a highly sought after movement. They are hard to find due to supplies being rather short of late. By the way, the movement guru's have already said that those are rock solid if you have it regulated and maintained well. I did watch both video's and I think you're referring to the "beat" of the movement which from my recollection you have a 28,000 bph. I don't think the beat changes in speed, although I could be wrong. I'll let the real experts chime in on this one. IMHO, it looks good and if you're experiencing that level of accuracy then I'd say you've hit the jack pot.
  18. Isn't there an unwritten rule that a strap cannot be thicker than your thumb? I thought I heard that somewhere.
  19. Ok, just got this in today. Wow!!! You guys weren't kidding. This thing is awsome! It feels, in quality and craftmanship, like some gen's I've owned. Really awsome. I'll have some pics up for you guys ASAP. Now, mine came with a bit of a floppy handle. How can I fix that? Thanks.
  20. If I'm not mistaken, aren't those all handmade? Yes, those are incredible watches. I had an opportunity to handle one and they're very nice.
  21. As always great review lanikai. Wow, another to add to the list...
  22. IWC = takes understatment to an art form.
  23. IMHO, you may have to overlook some inaccuracies when it comes to comparisons with a gen, but I wouldn't ever accept manufacturing flaws on rep or gen.
  24. Yep to each his/her own. If we all liked the same things this world would be a boring place. Not to mention we'd all have to kill each other for the same pair of socks/car/girl/guy/insert your item here...
