  2. got mine today, thanks for fast shipping now i'm opening casebacks in style.
  3. BB, I linked to this thread on RG but it got deleted, but I think you have an account on there as well. I saw several folks interested in the tool over there.
  4. i just put tinfoil on my iphone so they cant find me.
  5. Permabull, Please help me understand why you think this is the wrong forum for this type of discussion: a) Is it because the topic is posted in the corresponding watch brand subsection of the forum and deals with history of the said brand? b ) Is it because the marketing strategy of the said brand leans heavily on its historic identity and horological heritage with multiple vintage model reissues? c) Is it because many loyal vintage Panerai apologists lack the knowledge and perspective on their beloved brand's inconvenient history withheld from readily available and promotional material? d) Is it because the discussion is by and large on topic, factual and doesn't stray from the scope? Or is there something else that's making you uncomfortable, please share with the crew.
  6. that's a seagull st19 clone of lemania.
  7. Generalize much? You won't happen to be one of those folks that think The Holocaust was just another unfortunate POW/Collateral damage byproduct of the war? I'm sure there are rotten bastards in every army, but in the main - yes there is an enourmous difference between the armies of the world and armies of Nazis and Fascists. May possibly have something to do with the whole supreme Aryan race thing but who knows.
  8. Just read this Spiegel article, so much for soldiers just doing what they're told and only fighting for their country and ideas.
  9. Yes, you would need an ETA H3 hour wheel and CP. Have you tried emailing them to see if they have/can get stock?
  10. No, I'm cool I'll wait to get it together with everyone else. Thanks for the update
  11. Blakbard, what's the approx. timeframe for these being made?
  12. As with the leather straps, I find that D-F series rubbers were better overall in terms of comfort than later straps.
  13. Base: 111J @ $188 from Puretime Sell off: Dial - $40 Caseback - $30 CG - $50 Rubber - $15 You end up with a case, movement, crystal & buckle for ~$50 Next steps: a) Strip the A/R on crystal, use a dremel with a felt buffing attachment and some rouge в) Pull the hex case tube out (use a long screw with head that matches the tube outer diameter), put in dremel chuck with a large collet, run the hex against a file or sharpening whetstone at low, then follow with fine grit sandpaper & capecod. c) Snip the sec@9 gear pinion on movement DSN Dial - $60 DSN Caseback - $20 Sead CG - $65 Don Ginsler Rouille or DK Tan strap - $15 Voila - you have yourself a much better budget version for ~$200 and you have an extra seconds hand to boot
  14. ttt - paypal locked and loaded
  15. Other than that you should buy one immediately, cause that rouille strap looks hot.
  16. The bezel is off, too tall and too wide, I suspect the latter is due to the midcase pillow being out of spec (larger). The CG is a copy of a historic CG which is incorrect for PreA, the lever is bead blasted which is a nice touch. Lever pin is way too large in diameter. The CG is also polished to the extent the taper arch on the feet that's intended to match the pillow's arch is destroyed. The lugs are completely off in shape, screw holes position and flat "landing" area on the underside. The crown lip is too thick and the crown looks to be shallow. The caseback is wrong as well as OP6502 case range begins with serial BB970950. The dial print is a cartoonish stretch, wrong font, boldness, kerning, low crossbar and flat tops of 'A's at this point in the game is just upsetting.
  17. The 1st generation/batch was overbeveled like dsn crowns. It was the 1st real run and some kinks still needed to be worked out, 2nd and 3rd batches were better in terms of bevel. Batches 1-3 were all shallow .5-.55mm shallow dish. 4th and most recent batch that happened in spring of 2010 is not overbeveled and is available in Ti, SS & PVD in .9 and 1.2mm. Shallow .55mm dish or .80 deep dish and in 2.1mm thickness. I had multiple crowns from the most recent that batch and if you get a good one you're set but some I received had off center tapping and flash.
  18. Thank god you cleared the air ST4, I hate it when my decidedly disparaging, rude and hypocritical posts are misconstrued as lighthearted conversation.
  19. I would just like to put it out there that if you have any of these "OFFICNE" misspelled movements, specifically the ETA2893-2 & 2892-2 w/ soprod 9040 I would gladly take them off your hands in exchange for correctly spelled/vanilla movements.
  20. Yeah, we noticed about 6 years ago and most of us stopped caring about 5 years ago, but good eye
  21. i'm also down for one, please let us know when they are available.
  22. What do you want- a guarantee that the watch won't leak? Someone else testing their watch is no indication that your watch will also be waterproof. I get an impression you're not looking for an answer as you seem to know the answer better than anyone else.
  23. You need to start paying attention. My original statement was that people that tested their h-factory reps in fully submerged WR chambers and didn't check for bezel gasket rolled the dice. I'm clearly stating in this thread that you need to grease the said gasket. With your attitude you're lucky anyone gave two sh1ts about your question to even post a "get a gen" comment.
