  1. A 55 and 40 could be the next logical step. But if they don't sell these models that just came out there will be no incentive to make other models that also require a dial & caseback redesign.
  2. It does to me, z3k0, PAM61 video @45 seconds, PAM55 video @56 seconds.
  3. http://www.1-pc8838.com/0pn056c02-056c-tobacco-brown-p-12949.html http://www.1-pc8838....wn-p-12948.html Hard to say by Josh's pics, but if I know H-Factory - it will be a decent overall replication that can be worn as is or used as a parts donor for other projects. The great news for builders is that now there are quality Ti case parts available, most importantly the A-F style CG that we've never had before. Old Ti reps had poor CGs, while Sead's Ti CG cannot be used with most automatic watches due to a shallower than genuine crown cutout, the crown simply rubs in time setting or cant even be fully extended. The dial will likely be the standard H-Factory fare, not bad overall or from 10 feet away, but obviously lacking compared to the genuine. It will come with lume too lumpy and too raised, kind of ropey instead of a flatter fill inside the index groove, which will make the indeces look thinner; also, thinner LMP print with some kerning errors, and dial will be an aluminum disk instead of a brass one. The movement decoration on these is also incorrect, the OPII style movement in C & D series is the "paneraipanerai" engraved one like this: The CDG style OPI/OPII came roughly with the late "G" and early "H" series. None of these are show stoppers deal considering what we have here overall. Very well done, H-Factory, keep up the good work.
  4. Some pieces of leather and metal for you - 1 & 2
  5. Running center seconds models: Luminor: 23, 27, 28, 29, 57, 63 Radiomir: 65, 78, 80, 98, 173, 238, 355
  6. Very well done, love the strap choice The caseback on this watch is what's called a "shadow", it comes w/o millesimation, only a serial "BB" number. I think it's a perfect match for the G series dial that you have in the watch, because it makes the build more believable. With full case replacement service from PASC you always get a shadow caseback and it's likely that if you had it in for this, they replaced with a current generation minty fresh "J" >> case. Enjoy!
  7. joe and his famous "genuine dial dusting". legendary!
  8. David has a 240J and he is the only dealer that will sell parts. Check his section for contact info.
  9. Thanks for sharing, it's going to make a great base for some interesting mods but you can totally rock it as is. Also, looks like your 48 came with a shadow caseback instead of the usual (and wrong) "K" series matriculated one. I wonder if a caseback can be sourced separately from Reg - it would be a nice upgrade for all those with an older incorrect one.
  10. Great choice, Luman. Taka datewheel is a worthwhile upgrade for this watch. Maybe eventually grab a genuine dial if one comes up or source a dial from an older EL48/50C(not entirely correct but pops like OEM) and have it relumed. One like this http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=180625
  11. I'm not interested in cred or points; it's more like - asked and answered. Adeodatus hit it on the nose, every single rep has flaws, some can be corrected by builders and if the watch is a big seller, many will also be corrected by the rep factory themselves throughout its life/production cycle. I feel that shopping for a rep today should be less about who has the best and more about, "look at how far we've come" but there's tons left to do to take it to the next level, and for this - knowledge is important. Unless of course you're perfectly happy with your options and are just picking out your Autumn strap color. Which is totally cool of course, but you can only have so much of that before you stop coming back to the sub.
  12. No, I didn't test the alloy on your watch, but I've handled several hundred PAM reps from both of the leading factories. It's not about the cost but about availability of this metal for sintering applications. Coincidentally, I've also done metal fab. work so I know how to make steel look brighter or duller with abrasives and lapping/satination compounds. I also happen to know a little bit about manufacturing, specifically in China so if you want to believe you're getting 316F, I won't dissuade you.
  13. You can be sure that no 316 grade steel, especially no 316F was used in making of these or any other mass-produced Chinese rep. No matter what the description states, you're getting AISI304 or similar.
  14. dial texture is not reflective enough, dial print too anemic, font kerning is off, luminous too lumpy and matte, should be semigloss and much finer texture. tachy ring print is a bit off, handstack has minor nits, e.g. lume again a bit grainy, the black paint is flimsy and not correct texture, the chrono hand is rough. case pushers too low on the profile of the case, they cut into the bottom edge of the pillow because the movement is a thicker asian 7750 clone as oppsed the the genuine 7753 based calibre. overall though, the cosmetics, the crystal, case & bezel geometry and superlume do their job and if you're looking at it on someone's wrist you'll be hard pressed to call these out.
  15. The most accurate are 326 and 288 followed by 236/250.
  16. pam1b (dial, hands, crownguard, crown, tube, bezel, strap, buckle) pam24a (dial) pam93e (dial, crown) pam48k (dial, hands, strap, deploy) gwsd1665 (dial, hands, movement, insert, tube, crown, bracelet & endlinks) there's a bunch of others that have various gen tidbits but those above have a dial as a minimum.
  17. I think PeteM did one awhile back, check out his content.
  18. They're different in several ways. The only exchangeable parts without some metalwork between them are the crown, crownguard, caseback, bezel and all gaskets.
