  1. Look kinda like the lume dots are off centered. Just like the last batch of Skylands. Other than that, I like it.
  2. Excellent. Maybe one of the experts could tell us what that black gunk is?
  3. I've got one with the same broken spring. And it broke without me touching it.
  4. I'm a DateJust junky, I guess. The last picture is the beginning of my next, and last one. Gen 16200 case, gen dial and gen proper age jubilee bracelet. Just waiting for the movement to get back from Rex. I particularly like the leather gen Rolex band and buckle.
  5. I'm thinking this might work if done as a real pawnshop does. Lets say some members that have a little extra cash are willing to provide short term loans using watches as collateral. As a pawn shop does these members are willing to loan approximately 25% to 50% of the value at a reasonable fee of say 12% per anum. The member guarantees to hold the watch for a specified time, say 6 months, after which time he can either keep the watch or put it for sale. I've got some money to invest in some high end watches.
  6. That's a beauty. Roughly how much is invested? (I hope that's not a rude question. If so, ignore!)
  7. I've had pretty good results using white rouge powder with the one one right and then using another clean one after polishing.
  8. I think that was on Rep Geek. I tried it and it worked pretty easily. But, it will wear off just as the original did. Just paint in the letters with a small brush and after it dries, wipe off the excess with a solvent type paint thinner very lightly applied to a clean rag. It will take a couple of tries to get it looking good with all the letters fully covered, but it's really very simple. I didn't try the clear nail polish.
  9. Here's one currently for sale on RWI. Looks nice and cheap: Sub bracelet
  10. I had one of those and sold it because I didn't like the rubber. I could find no IWC rep bracelet that would fit it.
  11. Yes, it is a hacking movement. DG2813.
  12. The newest Noobs have much better crown and the insert sits nice and low in the bezel lip. The CG's just need a very little work. All great improvements.
  13. I think Josh's Noobmariner is one of the best subs for the money you can find. Get a better pearl and you're good to go. Only other downside is it's six beats per second instead of 8 like a gen. Most people would never notice that, though. Good choice.
  14. Here's a nice pre-aged one for you: 1665 pearl
  15. Here you go: Watchmaterial pearl
  16. I definitely want one that will accept a gen dial, if anyone can point me in the right direction.
  17. I've got the file but it's too big to e mail. If someone has a place to upload it I'll be happy to.
  18. I like it. When it's not winding, your watches are all staring at you face up. I always wished the other winders would stop winding in the face up position instead of random.
  19. This kind of information is what makes this forum truly great. I truly can't wait for the rest of this one.
  20. I can't resist: This thread is worthless without pictures
  21. I bought one of those from Bandmaniac for a simple replacement in a DateJust and you better beware. They have such a small hour, minute and second wheel I couldn't even install the hands on it. Then he said he could get the taller ones. Then he wanted more for that. Then he said he couldn't get it. I ended up trying to change the wheels with my bad movement and ended up with 2 movements that were no good. The first 2 wheels were easy, then my plan went to crap on the third. Watch repair guy Rex450 said, "too bad, no good, beyond repair". So be aware that they are not the same as the ones in most of our reps.
  22. And the winner is................... USMC8404> Congratulations!
  23. Lousy pictures. He's kind of hidden the crown and crown guards. Terrible picture of the pearl. Rehuat looks a little off but it's hard to tell. I'd want better pictures before I paid for it. Only thing that looks good to me is the paperwork.
  24. I found the TT DJs lasts pretty well. The gold section in the middle of the links doesn't get much abuse. Almost any dealer can get you one. Ruby over on RepGeeks forum specializes in Datejusts and can you you about anyone you want. I've never used her but she seems to have a very good reputation. Order-email: GOLDMEDAL88@126.COM RubyReplicas@hotmail.com Hope it's OK to post her email. If not please feel free to delete it.
