  1. Right out of the box running sec's at nine usually with the newer 7750 (28,800) is best. I'd personally stay away from the Daytona's and running seconds at six, depiste the instinctive urge. Ubiquitous's Daytona is a modified one with a gen el primiero? (Am I right Randy?) And a very nice one at that.
  2. I think I'm in stage 3 now. Maintaining what I really like selling off others. I wish I had the skills to do some mods. I've tinkered here and there, but realized I'm only good at breaking watches. I really have come to appreciate those that have the skills and the "awesome set of tools". I can read The Zigmeister's posts for hours just mezmorized by the talent. Sort of like watching a good musician master his instrument.
  3. Crazy...when I first saw that Joshua posted that the first thing that came to mind was "SCAM SITE"
  4. I think the more "seasoned" collectors are maybe getting turned off. Some seem to be more into modding what they have or only buying the latest "better" versions. I myself have been more selective in my choosing..and selling off my hasty purchases. But I agree in the year I've been here I too remember one price, now shipping, WU fees etc. Prices gone up, quality too. I think there has been an influx of newer people and with major dealers now having a website it's easier for them to set pricing and sort of forget the "older" members and not be so reliant on any of the boards anymore. Just my thoughts
  5. Daily Beater: Ultimate PO (your color of choice) Smart: PAM 111 Dress: IWC FA Jones Vintage: hmmm...a 4 day old Breitling BCE
  6. I like that a lot...I'm going to try and remember this
  7. Point taken..I personally don't mind paying more if in fact better quality and attention to detail is given for that price. But lately that seems to walk a fine line in also being misled by false information. The latest Breitling's are certainly hope of what could be on the horizon. But I do see this hobby as an art and appreciation of nice things, that's why I collect.
  8. All true, but aren't you losing sight that these are only reps? I mean most people wouldn't know a good cannon pin from a bad one, let alone what a Panerai is. I look at them as reps ALWAYS. If I wanted perfect I would buy the genuine. For $200-$300 you get a real good copy, I can't understand adding another $300-$400 in mods to a rep, it still won't be real, just a better copy. No offense to modders who do this as a hobby, I think be able to successfully tinker with these things is an art. But let's try not to lose sight at what these watches are.
  9. I think for the money this isn't a bad rep. That said I still think it's overpriced. It's the newest "hot" watch that was released before CNY. Some people have waited a long time for it. I myself don't like it very much, but can appreciate the attention to detail that went into creating it. I kind of relate it to certain rock bands reuniting, (The Police example). Some people will pay hundreds "just to be there", "have to have it now". I would almost guarantee that in a month or so most dealers will have this as a "monthly special", providing factores didn't "over rep it". Then again I could be talking out of my ass
  10. perfectly clear now...thanks much
  11. so 18mm is the width for the buckle and 22 or 21 for the lugs? I know i'm stupid.
  12. So you're saying that a 21/18mm strap won't accomodate the rep buckle? I'm not sure I understand? Isn't 21mm vs. 22mm at the lug?
  13. I was referring to the stick marker version, and using the Breitling website and watch on my wrist as a reference. Plus for some reason my work blocks pictures so I'm sort of viewing this forum half blind.
  14. Yes, they are there, both on the main dials and subs, just have to look real close, hard to see in a photograph.
  15. For me my new BCE graphite dial...pics to come shortly.
  16. I'm still in awe of this watch, and nice to know that EMS is a 7 day operation. So no extra anziety trying to get through the last day of the weekend waiting for Monday. Too cool.
  17. IT CAME!! I actually slipped it under the wife's radar...well she'll notice it eventually. Nothing like a new watch in the mail. It looks even better in person.
  18. Well it looks like the BCE will come today, latest track says it left facility and is eroute...so we'll see. Still have fingers crossed. Although it's past 11:00am here now.
  19. So there is still hope that tomorrow morning while having coffee and breakfast my doorbell will ring and I'll be having a long conversation wth my wife while re-sizing my BCE
  20. Thanks guys. I'm really not expecting it to come until Monday, I was really hoping for today. I just can't wait for my BCE Funny how know matter how many watches I order it always feels like the first time and the waiting anxiety never gets old...if only sex were that way
  21. Just curious is anyone in the states every received an EMS package on a Sunday? Mine usually arrive in a max of 5 days. In this case the fifth day is tomorrow, Sunday. I'm not expecting it to really come until Monday, but I guess I have false optimism. God, you'd think by now I'd just chill, this is like watch 20. Anyway just seeing if any has.
  22. This watch's price drops like a steel fish in a few weeks....
  23. I have a CN H movement in my 111H, works flawlessly thus far.
  24. Would 21mm work or does it leave too large a gap on the rep?
  25. May have answered my own question with a little research I found 22mm? Anybody concur with this?
