I think in this case you need to understand a bit more about the differences in the movements not just the decorative finishes which elabor is just a finish !
Search on google for 2892 and the Little Engine that can" and learn about the mechanics of the movements and then your question will be answered along with many more
Woof my rep was made from a new style 1680 styled MBK you look at the pictures in my comparison post and point out the differences in case shape and size apart from the gen has has a good RSC polishing and all I modded on the rep was the lug holes, rehaut and crown guards
I know Freddy but that was just one day out of 14 all the others will be 16 hours jolting a round on jungle tracks in the middle of nowhere
But the swim in the 25 degree Atlantic this morning made it worth it. So was the dinner list night in a restaurant right in the beach and 10 meters from the shore
On the auto Pam's there are no easy swap options. It is possible with a 7750 derived movement but not cheep as you need to buy a 7750 and then remove a lot of parts
If a user is inactive for a long period then the account will be canceled if you want to get your old user name back pm a mod ( normally I would say me but I have limited access where I am) and they can deal with it for you.
You should be able to do the swap but make sure the seconds wheel, canonpin and hour wheel are the right heights, i think H4 or H5 are best, if it is a H3 2892 then you may not have space to fit the hands
What QC do you think you get from an Asian rep manufacturer on a Swiss movement ?????
It will be a NOS movement that will need a service the same as a new Asian one
To be honest this new and old MBW/MBK thing confuses me as I had an old one as a 1680 with lug engraving 5513 which I converted to a 5513 and then uses a newer case engraved 1680 which I used to build my 1680 and modeled after my gen and all the parts swapped over no problems so I don't think there is a difference
Archie, it is not difficullt to regulate a 6497 but if it is running that fast then i would say you have two coils in the balance spring touching, Find an old school watchsmith (i am sure you can find one with your contacts (just dont go to an AD) and with a timing machine he will be able to sort it in minuets few!
Omga allways pair the hands for the different functions, in the first one that rep posted the hands for the main time are with white frames so the seconds hand is white, all the chrono hands are yellow, in the second one with the bracelet the main time telling hands have black frames hence the black (but stupid) seconds hand,
A great read Archie
Looks like we have a new convert here!
The great news about the 318 is that direct from the factory it came with an undecorated 6497-1 movement that caused a right uproar on paneristi so add in that movement and you have a nice first franken.
And the Bob Cordovan what a nice strap!!!!
Wear it well and enjoy the hobby, try not to let it become an obsesion but as you have started with panerai then it will become one but try to keep your house and wife!
