  1. What I want to know is where are you finding gen 3135s???? I have considered this as a project with the rep 3135 but never even thought of a gen 3135 because of the cost of one are they available
  2. Yes mate more of a flat basic crown. Have you changed your strap again? I am on the Bob new aviator in moo crock lovely and flexible right from the start
  3. Only if you happen to have a spare 3135 If you are not using s gen movement i think there are plus and minus to both also Bk sells the finished modded product where as TC is a kit i belive
  4. That is better than any thing i have
  5. Sorry but I was talking out of my arse. You need to remove the auto wind bridge and spring barrel bridge to to it but you can do it from the back. Sorry I have been working on 2892 the past week and got confused
  6. They all came with a crap DW and the lello DW was the only solution. Red as far as I know there are 3 reps with the rehaut numerals Lumed as Ziggy did one along time ago. Uwe at sweetwatches.de did this one along with one I was working on for a friend. The mod on the bracelet pins is just a way of finishing what the Chinese started. It is those little things that make the difference to me on a quality watch. Red I love the photos and I do miss this one but I am happy it has gone to a good home. The gen for me does not have the charm of a modded rep so it will just sit in the safe untill I am gone and maybe by then my daughter will be able to pay for the gun carriage and 12 jet black stallions for my funeral with the proceeds. How she will pay for the 12 foot marble statue of me in the town square I have not idea though.
  7. Freddy He does not even need to remove the movement to get to the hacking lever. Just remove the autowind bridge and he will be able to get to the lever from there
  8. Never heard of him, personally why would you go any where else but the sellers we have here
  9. The retiming ring you refer to is actually the spring with points that fit in the case and spring leafs that make the ratchet with the teeth cut in the inside of the bezel. There should be one other long bent bit of wire that sits inside a grove in the bezel and also a groove in the case and on a gen it is a case of portend a case knife between the bezel and case and popping the whole thing off. On the rep it should be the same but I have had rep bezels that just plane won't come off Hope this helps
  10. Well you can't remove the dial and hands with the movement in the case so I would say you will be able to to do it with them on
  11. Well that is not going to run well is it!
  12. You may be able to get away with only using the GMT, hour and cannon pin if you have a long tubed seconds hand but if you dont then you will need them all H5
  13. Ahhhhhhh if you has said that in the first post, your hacking lever has come out of its position and not letting the sliding pinion move correctly therefor not letting the setting gears contace correctly to set the time, you need to remove the auto winding bridge then the spring barrel bridge and refit the hacking lever or replace it if it is damaged, then you should be fine, you can do it with the movement in the case.
  14. It is not very oftern i read something good about cousins, every thing from the web interface to there postage costs are not great so it is nice to hear some one with a positive outcome.
  15. Dito on the crown or a very dirty movement
  16. IWC MK XVI or Omega Aqua tera/ Railmaster
  17. Below in the attached photo is my 1978 gen sub with a bit of 1'2mm steel stuck through the lugs and it is loose. In fact a 1.3mm drill bit fits in but is very tight. If you look at my comparison post between the rep and gen you will see there is almost not visible difference between the gen and the rep in terms of lug hole size on a vintage worn watch and a rep that is supposed to be a vintage watch, they may well have been 1.2 or less when new but they are not new any more To save you the time i will repost a photo here gen is on top by the way
  18. Seconds hand was sanded down only half way solution for the DW is an ETA one and that font is not quite right I have found a crushed crystal gasket though so i have to source a new one so that means i may as well get the AR done while a wait for thet
  19. Modded MK XVI As you can see the lume is done and the seconds hand is thinner now to solve that date wheel
  20. Well i have now got mine and after a couple of days wearing it i see the following issues Min hand a touch to short ,Solution gen hands set, bit this is a minor issue and hard to spot. Seconds hand a bit to fat, Solution As above but i may see if i can find a thiner one or thin this one a little Date font too thin and wrong font for an IWC, Solution a correct DW but this will not be easy to get i dont think, but it will at least fit the movement Lume not great, Solution relume it! AR is not great but clear, i could maybe live with this if it was not for the fact that i Visit Uwe every few weeks and i can simply drop it of for his ausome AR so that will proberbly get done as well Strap is shit, Solution fit a Bob IWC Aviator strap, Done I am looking into a couple of options right now as this is a watch that i think i may like to franken a bit.
