  1. Does the GMT IIc use the same oem crystal as the sub c?
  2. Still email
  3. I did finally hear back from Torobravo today...says hell get me new QCs and finish up our sale. Will keep you up to date... Yes, want him to do well and for others to support him...but...people will only buy from him if they feel comfortable based on "good news"... There are options and people only buy based on word of mouth... So...hope he pulls it together.
  4. I'd like to be the first to welcome our new member sgtguk. Please read the stickies so you don't ask stupid questions. Remember google is your friend. You'll get past being a noob in no time I'm sure! Lol
  5. This is the potential trouble that can come from folk doing mindless PP claims... TDs increasingly move to WU... we pay WU... TD becomes untrusted D... and buyers are left holding the bag. I've got $300 with him now... Lets hope he stays on the path... Dry patches of communication and support don't lead to increased sales. Fingers crossed...
  6. I knew of some of these issues (thanks for commenting) - but had heard he was good to work with. The lack of communication is the main issue/concern.
  7. About a week ago I sent WU payment to Toro Bravo. Got a QC photo (actually two different sets were sent me about the same time) - and have sent various emails since then. (To be honest my emails have been a flux - rejecting the watch for lume issues - them waffling back and forth in emails on the purchase (this on the v.2 Sub C))... but ... inspite of my lack of clarity and decisiveness which I "own" - I've not heard a thing back from any of the emails since the QC pics arrived. I've not worked with this TD before, but the lack of communication is becoming troubling. Someone said he was away on vacation - and I get that - but leaving (if this is the case) without communication mid-"deal" is not so cool. Anyone else having trouble?
  8. I thought the new bracelets lack the EL stamping. I'd kept my v.2 bracelet to swap those out.

    V.2 Sub C

Some nice - optimistic chatter in the Rolex forum on RWI on this one. Seems all TDs are now putting her up. Will share when mine arrives.

    V.2 Sub C

The "new" Sub C is out and about. Noob supposedly has better hands now. No idea about color improvements. Just ordered a Hulk running A2836. We'll see. http://www.torobravos2013.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_115&product_id=849
  11. grey out!
  12. I've been waiting to hear back from TC on a type to I hope to Franken up abit. No reply yet. Anybody got one for sale?
  13. Looking for a TC LV...if u have one PM me please ... Thanks.
  14. Omega Speedy Date (esp Retro/Red-Black) is a super. Disclaimer: I'm about to sell mine - but still, Bytor says so - so ... I gotta agree.
  15. Anyone know if the "new" version has a screwed down bezel? Or ... does anyone have a dead 3714 with a case in good shape that has the screw down bezel. (From my understanding some were screwed on and others just attached by friction and glue).
  16. Thanks - anyone else? Same on their watches? I got a lovely Franken recently and am doing a few upgrades, but having had the gen I noticed the pushers are quite wobbly and nothing in comparison to the original (the rest is quite good though). My smith looked at it and said the case is nice but they cut corners (all the reps I'm guessing) on the pushers. Instead of a case extension and then then pusher receeding into this with waterproofing design, the rep simply has holes for receiving single piece pushers and screw-ins behind to keep it attached. It works for starting.stopping and reseting the chrono but he said based on the design, you could do all you'd like to the rest of the case but the pushers would make her leak like a seive. Guess I'll keep this one away from all forms of water - including bathroom steam!
  17. How much looseness or wobble do you have in the pushers? TIA.
  18. Whatever it is it's a skeleton watch!
  19. gtanak said it as I know it exactly.
  20. I think (and could be very wrong) - that big will grow old - and a return to average size (42-44) and THIN will swing back into vogue. Hope so. Love Zenith's ultra thins!
  21. I know you're right ... Just got an email from the member who bought my JAG Franken sub and was reminded why it should still be in my box too. And, the 1665 is one if a kind while the Franken IWCs are hard to come by...but... I've some bills, only two wrists and would be blessed to have half as much in the case. So, I am now an UNmotivated seller ... ;(
  22. Someone wanted to see more of the 1665. Here's a few.
  23. Thanks guys. Yes, I've given some thought to the pieces I've collected over the years. I decided long ago quality over quantity. In fact, I feel with even these 8 pieces I'm "too covered" in some areas (to my thinking an use). Many Omegas (which I love) and many sports watches. I'm in a suit most days so... Selling the 3717 (hate the idea but) Selling the 1665 (hate the idea but again... both sportly - and though this in my only vintage and a very special one of a kind made by some of the best and long time names in Repdom - it's time to let her go) Selling the Speedy Date (hard decision)... my first rep... but you know - I don't wear her even though she's a great piece and one of the best 1:1 models according to Bytor's Reviews (which I read like the Bible when I first got started in all this). Better really to have someone have her who will put her to good use. This isn't intended as a sales thread so I won't get into prices here... in a few days I hope to post them in the appropriate section, but looking at my babies in their "crib" today I thought... wow... I've spend more than 12K on these puppies - but darn if they aren't a lovely little family.
  24. Actually, eight is a few too many. I plan on putting a few of these beauts on the block in the coming week, but for now my little collection is as large as she's ever been and I must say standing in front of the box is a nice place to start my day. From left to right here be my children: 1. "Kung Fu Panda" - Newest to the herd - Franken 3714-04 Reverse Panda. Gen Movemen, Dial, hands, crown and buckle on Peter.watch black Croc. 2."The Bold and the Beautiful" - Franken 3717. "Gen if you can see it" (Case, Crystal, Dial, Hands, Date wheel). ETA 7750 with Rep Bracelet. 3."Spots on the Moon" - Gen Omega 861 Speedmaster customized with LE 35th Anniversary Panda Dial/Hands on Peter.watch black Croc. 4. "Blue Moon" - Gen Omega Saphire Sandwich Speedmaster customized with LE 40th Anniversary Gemini Dial, Broad Arrow Hands/Bezel on Black Croc. 5. "One and Only" - Franken 1665 DRSD with Palpatinized Old School MBW case, Ubi date wheel, RepAustira Caseback, Gen Crown/Tube, Bezel, Superdome 39, CPW Dial, ETA 2836 on black Kangaroo NATO (set includes Mary's 7036 bracelet, Rivet Bracelet and gen bracelet clasp). 6. "My Pamela" - PAM 390 Super Rep - V3 111N case, 390H Dial, Hands, Caseback on Heroic 18 Strap. 7. "My First Great" - 1:1 Omega Speedmaster Date Super Dooper Rep Red/Black. My first Rep and now pretty much unobtainable. 8. "Orange Crush" - Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Super Rep - Well known Planet Ocean Orange 42 running ETA and Sunnydale Super AR Crystal In all, 2 Modified Gens, 3 Frankens to various degrees and 3 Stock/Stock/Mods. Financials: 2 Modded High(ish) End Gens = 6 Reps (4 High End, 2 Stock/Mod) ...or to put it another way, Gen and Rep inverstment about equal. So, Rep world definitely provides more bang for the buck. But, as we say a gen is - a gen. Thanks for looking.
  25. I got a watchmaker friend who said he could add a jewel to the 6 spot. What do you think the odds are that could be done with success on the Asian Mov.?
