  1. KB - hope all is well. Maybe you already do something like this - but I've one seller of items less defendable than others say something like the following in a pre-sales email. PLEASE NOTE: PayPal disputes are good and proper means of sales/purchase disputes for many types of sale. HOWEVER, as a seller we are requesting that you, the buyer do whatever you feel necessary to feel comfortable with us BEFORE PURCHASE. We sell good products and stand by them and do all within our power to settle buyer concerns in a fair and timely manner. While we cannot prevent a buyer from opening a PayPal dispute in the future, we would ask that IF you are not willing to trust us as sellers to act honestly and fairly in our transation, we respectfully ask that you make your purchase from someone else. Buyer bisputes via PayPal seriously hamper our means of payment and take too much time and energy. Shotly put, don't buy from us unless you agree to solve problems directly with us as opposed to bringing in Paypal to sort things out. Our feedback speaks for itself and our word is good. Please consider this before ordering with us. Thank you. My version's a bit windy but it might make things better... I don't know... As for the disputer... while it's too bad he didn't work through things with you because you'd shown a willingfulness to solve the problem... I have also felt antsy in similar shoes... it was like... "OK, this refund/replacement thing had dragged on forever... yes, she's writing me back... but talk is cheap... and my only means of recourse are heading down the drain...so...what do I do...?" I think your buyer just was fearful of being left holding the bag (no pun intended) and recognized that the web is a great means of big talkers ripping one off. Sadly, that NOT being what you're about... you got the short end of the stick...
  2. Sorry this happened. As already said - yup - good on him.
  3. i don't know much about any of this - but i gotta be in with PeteM on this much: If I trust someone (with reasonably good cause) and recommend them and THEY do wrong, I'd feel bad but it'd be a big step to step up and make right things that I didn't directly screw up esp. for a good bit of scratch. If N is or has done so - very good on him. If it's big money, you gotta give someone time and the benefit of the doubt for even trying. Hope all but the scammer have a great 2013.
  4. Maxman, let me be a good member and say "Thank You" - for your Sig vid. Stops me in my tracks every time!
  5. Sorry... no piece on earth for you this Christmas.
  6. Reps=Fakes. In Thailand there are many "reps" in Pataya... but watch out for the pretty young lady with the soft deep voice... nothing like the gen.
  7. Not from Toro!!! I ordered a white one and paid... and then got the email they were all gone. U got my watch man
  8. TeeJay said, " I couldn't possibly accept any more money than I needed " Man - you're EXACTLY the kinda fella I'm so happy to help out. That' why I (and others) have said keep us posted as things move forward. Really do. When we did something for our good friend JAG and now you - of course, the goal is not to make our watch forum a place for handouts... but there are lots of good folk here and if someone is truly in need we've got a way just by little bits here and there to help..without any one person going broke... I think it's a good thing. I took 5 families out for gift buying this year... people who did'nt have much money. The largest family (with 5 members) did their shoping and the mom return $100 to me (i.e., the could have but didn't spend it all). Thrifty, thinking of others, not being greedy.... I was so impressed and happy with that family that today I took them all the money back, gave em' a gift basket and something else (forgot what). Love that kind of thinking. Be well. Merry Christmas. Hope you find work and a way to move through the dark cloud... and, keep in touch if needs arise. Just PM me OK...
  9. Why two Discoverys? Is there something I'm missing".... I mean, hey! - I'm missing something (a Discovery!!!)
  10. cc33, love that one. Is that JAGs or from elsewhere? Let me know when you decided you're pro-nukes
  11. Sorry I'm late to read about all this but glad our troupe has responded in a nice way. Keep us posted. I AM interested in yoru affairs and well-being.
  12. Hang in there - good and sometimes (rarely) cheaply priced ones show up. This one was a steal. First the TZ seller (nice guy) had it up for 1650 - then just wanted to bail and listed it for 1250 (this on a 1479 bracelet that was in good shape). It had a nice size ding on the side toward the back (near 8 o'clock) but I thought my watchsmith could do something with it. I offered 1200 gift and she was mine. Then, he had a 1450 bracelet (the grail!) he was selling for $650. I bought that and got a happy $375 for the 1479. So, 1200 + 650 - 375 puts me in this for only 1475 plus casework fixes and the dial/hands. Still not cheap but the $1475 at base really had me singin'. I ended up putting the 1450 on the other Speedy. I think the black strap pulls out the subs nicely on this one. One will come along for you I'm sure. In the meantime, maybe snag a 35th Anniversary dial from watchco on the bay (while they last as Ofrei don't carry them)... and the hands from Ofrei as... they do have these. When your watch sails in... you'll be set. Cheers.
  13. This is a 1976 Speedy Pro (861 movt) hosting a 35th Anniversary dial and hands. B4 I had done the same mod with a different Panda dial from Ofrei's - but lost my mind and sold it. This is a replacement. Slightly different but mostly the same. I call it my Mickey Mouse watch given the combined shape of the black subs. Just got her back a few days ago. New year, "new" watch... I'm happy with that. Now just looking forward to 7 days off with my wife and the pooch. Bwell...
  14. What Ya Gonna Wear OCD (On Christmas Day)? I've decided to go Panda ...
  15. Well, I twisted my left leg around just so and finally extricated myself from the machine...luckily my "package" was OK...LOL
  16. What do u think? I think the following app would make a mint...if...it'd not have to be free... This app...for now let's call it "Reptile" would first require the owner input his or her bank account info...it would then track the users movements on all sites such as RWG, RWI and RepGeek (other sites such as TZ, WUS and VRF could be added)...and, as soon as the user attempts to enter a sales area on these forums, the users account balance would flash in red half a dozen times followed by an immediate logout and transfer to either nancygrace.com or suzeorman.com... What'd ya think... Personally, I'm finding I need something like this!
  17. You know, I saw the title of this thread and it was kinda painful...reminded me of the one time I went to customs...they had those turnstile thingamabobs and I too had my package stuck in customs...
  18. Suggestion: Don't go to your fav watchsmith with the damaged goods and answer the inevitable query, "How'd this happen?"... with... "Well, the other morning I work up and my neighbors [censored] arrived at an unexpected moment causing me to mishandle my watch." Me thinks he just won't understand!
  19. I like the blue dial and red tip... looks good!
  20. Such sad news. Obviously the perps have serious mental issues.
  21. Does the remove a dial feet reduce its value on resale or no...? I plan to keep this one - but you know how that goes over time... and not everyone might want to wear her "correctly"...
  22. I was thinking/hoping it was that easy. Yes, glad its a basic model.\ If we're wrong on this - someone - anyone shout out as I see my watch guy on Friday... thanks.
  23. Gotta agree with the OP http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/153441-potatoes-good-meat-good-custard-good-some-reps-good/
  24. Hi all, Just got this beauty tonight http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/153871-fs-super-ultimate-panerai-390-with-noob-v-3-111-case-set-swiss-eta-hot/ lovely piece... but now I've got a Q Is it possible to rotate the case and dial so as to wear her as a lefty... on my righty? I've had PAMs before and put up with the GC dig - but would like to make the change IF it can be done without messin' with the dial pins (or whatever they be called on the back of the dial... sorry, my mind's a sieve today...). Thanks for any feedback folks on such a change...
  25. Wow, how did I miss this? for the past few days I've been looking endlessly for the "right" strap for a 111N on it's way! I went with this: http://www.heroic18.com/product-detail.php?id=369&category_id=6&sub_cate_id=79 Will post pics when she arrives. Thanks for the post... very informative... as a word is worth ... 1/1000th of a picture!
