  1. Probably 2 of the best resources I have found. http://www.seikodigitalwatches.com/ For Seiko parts lists go to Service & Instruction manuals. They are all there, mechs and quartz! http://casiodigitalwatches.com/ A fabulous resource! Offshore
  2. Col, Here is another 24 ft'er FS. https://www.apolloduck.com/display.phtml?aid=105649 This one is diesel/shaft, and 1/2 the price! (Pretty untidy though) Don't know how they have designed a 24 as diesel/shaft however, unless it is V drive. Or it has a bloody hulking diesel sitting in just the wrong place. (Probably with a table built over) I remember Nissan flirting with the boat game back then, Toyota also had a shot with a 28' alloy hull/GRP deck, built in NZ! I actually worked on the laminates for the deck. Beats me why the motor vehicle execs all want to dabble their toes in the water....surely the motor industry is difficult enough....why get involved in something guaranteed not to make any $$ You know the old saying Col....."How to make a small fortune in the Marine Industry.....Start with a large one!" Offshore
  3. There ya go! http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=644349 O/S
  4. Probably a good idea, 'cos Chrome doesn't like that site much either! However, if strapluxe want a level of recognition here, maybe they should have a chat with the Admin 1st! O/S
  5. She could always do an advert for Macca's- "I donated to the Wildlife Preservation cause!" O/S
  6. Thank you, for this wonderful info list. This sort of help just sets RWG above others as a source of information (Copied and filed ) Offshore
  7. Welcome from me to, here in Oz. There may be some options available, but you are better to just get on the phone, and ring a couple of local repairers, and ask if they work on replicas! (especially if you only want servicing) Will leave this one to the guys from Sydney to comment further. Offshore
  8. I'm Gold Coast, there are at least a couple of Sunny Coast, and I'm sure some in Brisvegas. Offshore
  9. Won't get involved in the differences, as I don't know! Hopefully someone else can assist. As far as the waterproof ability of any rep.................. I would always assume that the watch, any rep watch, was NOT waterproof, and take steps to assure myself that what I had was! With the lack of QC on these watches, even though one may pass, the next 10 may fail. So never assume, that just because someone reports that their XXX, when received, passed a test to X m, that yours also will! As to the helium valve, unless you plan on saturation diving, it doesn't matter! My understanding is that many buyers have needed to seal it off, just to get some level of water resistance! And I wouldn't think the rep valve would operate as was originally intended. Offshore
  10. Yeh, welcome Danny, plenty of Oz here! ?You down south, or up north? Offshore
  11. Thanks guys. It has been dealt with! Offshore
  12. Have you tried - http://www.somalcanada.com/ or http://www.usseagull.com/ ? Offshore
  13. Welcome to our little home. Hopefully you have spotted Toad's excellent guide for Noobs, if not, this is the best place to start. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Hey-Noobor-NoobRe-t85981.html And from there it is all downhill, enjoy your time here, and beware it is addictive! Offshore
  14. Surely Chief! Just like life actually! You can get a hand job for 50 bucks, or the full "machine" version, for considerably more. Offshore
  15. The yellow handle Seiko style case back tool works for me most times. With this you are pushing and expanding the gap, not twisting as with a case back knife. On odd occasions I have had to get one in on one side, then use another (or a knife,) on the other. Offshore
  16. Hi Peter, Welcome aboard! Now there is a statement which probably best sums up this place; yes we have an amazing cross section of knowledge here. A potpourri of the watch world, so to speak! Hope your time with us is both entertaining, and enlightening. Enjoy. Offshore
  17. On ebay Oz today- http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ETA-2512-1-Watch-Mo...1QQcmdZViewItem Check his other items, there are few different movements, so working, some not, for sale. Offshore
  18. If you are prepared to do some homework...shop around... you can do a fair bit better. However it is a great starting point. So if you need a quick fix, pay the $$...be content, knowing you may even find some other (maybe better) options. Which in the long term you will finally replace. Eventually you will end up with a whole series of various tools, some good, some average, and some very ordinary, or worthless. Unfortunately this is part of the game. One example. Screwdrivers...the most important item. I have a set of Horotec, and a set of Bergeon ( who's earlier blades were rubbish) In the last day or two, I have purchased another set (from China) I will get this 5 piece set for $22.50 incl post,...if they are as good as claimed, they will make the Swiss/French sets irrelevant! However it will be a couple of weeks before I can "suck it and see" And that's just screwdrivers! Also we know from the rep world that things are copied (and sold as gen! ) So you must be wary that you aren't paying Swiss/French prices, for Chinese wannabees. Bit like buying a watch actually! Offshore
  19. Yep...plenty of rocks there! Must be Omega. And a maybe even a camel? Yum. PS....Fabulous review...sorry to get distracted!
  20. TJ, I have had many -old- "been in the drawer for X years" watches come across my bench. It is truly amazing, that some actually run with winding; after these major time outs, and MANY others will again operate, after some time on the wrist (read - body heat) or a few hours on the kitchen window ledge ...in the sun! (read- heat again) If I was going to "lock a movement down" for a number of years, I would probably avoid too much lubrication in it! (Maybe even think about some sort of "surface coating" - WD40 comes to mind) So I think a cleaned movement, without too much/or no, lube, but with some form of surface protectorent, and then sealed, (even better- vacuum sealed) may be the way I would look. ???????????????????? Just guessing.... Offshore
  21. Nice shot, and nice job! Maybe you could give us a small tutorial on your light box? Photoshop or not, great composition, and nice and clean to my eye. Offshore PS I'm sure Toad will give you a link or 2!
  22. And believe me, once you see it, you will NEVER forget it! Offshore
