  1. When i did this, i cut the click spring by a millimetre or so with some wire cutters, until the point was aligned with the 12. You'll need to totally remove the bezel do do this, if you haven't already.
  2. That leather sure does make a very nice strap (unlike Clive, i think the pattern makes so great). However £100+ is a little overkill for a strap in my case. I don't suppose a 6" x 4" piece of leather is enough for a strap is it?
  3. Nice one, Thanks. Just bought mine.
  4. It's very doubtful it's a copy of the Seagull. I'm guessing they cost a lot less than $87 when you buy them by the truck load.
  5. I can't pick a favourite, so these in no particular order. 1. PAM 111H. I didn't have it very long before i sent it to Finepics for a relume (he has it atm), but it gave me the Panerai bug in a way my 036 and 192 failed to do. I'm even wondering if my 6.75" wrist can support a Fiddy, but I'm not sure i want to pay to find out i'm wrong. 2. Omega Planet Ocean 4th Gen (Orange) - I'm even thinking about buying a black one to go with it, even though i already have a 45mm in black. 3. Rolex Submariner 16610 - My current one was one of Joshua's first hollow link bracelet models. This was the watch pictured in a massive thread on RWG 1 by its former owner, who photographed it with a genuine Sub. I bought it from him after he'd modded crown guards. When i get myself an MBW or WM 1665, i'm certain that will make the top 3.
  6. They were actually out before the asian version. Same problems though. All those extra gears that move the subdials around put a lot of extra stress on the movement. They're better than the asian ones, but still not perfect. EDIT: He is, or they are, a dealer here on these boards. Ken i think the guy's name is. I think he's something to do with WatchHonpo.
  7. Just an FYI. Andrew's asian/eta subs (the ones with the good CGs), take an oem or aftermarket insert as is. The bezel insert on those has the same profile as a gen. A kind of shape. I assume Paul's and PT's "ultimate" subs are they appear to be the same watch.
  8. Today: 4th Gen PO. Tonight: The one on the right, but it has a new pearl now.
  9. As far as i know, the only non-OEM straps that carry the Officine Panerai markings are the replica straps (sold by most of the rep dealers). These are not great quality, and you be 100 times better off buying a good quality strap from BOB or HKtan (or any other decent strap company/maker) believe me. I used a rep strap on my 036 for almost a year. Once i got my hands on a Bob vertigo buffalo, i was totally blown away and wore my watches much more often because of it.
  10. Yummy. I'll have to build myself one before the year's out.
  11. In a word, YES. You should buy it right now. I had a couple of PAMs (036, 192) before i got my 111H. To say i was blown away, was an understatement. It's simplicity is its beauty. If i didn't have one already, i'd have jumped all over it.
  12. That's actually a very close rep. The original IS a Seamaster by the way. The original's specs: Seamaster Aqua Terra big-size chronograph REFERENCE Steel on Steel 2515.30.00 MOVEMENT Caliber: Omega 3301 Self-winding chronograph with column wheel mechanism. Officially certified chronometer. Rhodium-plated finish. Power Reserve: 55 hours CRYSTAL Domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal CASE & DIAL Stainless steel case White dial WATER RESISTANCE Down to: 150 meters 500 feet FUNCTIONS Date Chronograph Chronometer Small seconds Shame it's not on Omega's site properly. All you can get is a crap photo in the pdf you can download.
  13. I stand corrected. It does look like a 2846 though right?
  14. It looks like an ETA 2846 to me, but without the usual engraving on the rotor. They're 17 jewels, and 21,600bph, and look very very similar to that.
  15. My 42.5mm (4th gen) PO has 20mm lugs. My 45mm asian PO also has 20mm lugs. The 45mm should have 22mm lugs iirc. Not sure about the 42.5mm
  16. Yes, it fits. I have a full set of genuine hands (also from clockspares.net) on one of my SMPs.
  17. Here are my comments on the whole distortion Vs AR thing, and the watches i've experienced the effects on. Both my PAM111H, and my PAM036 have AR coating (or atleast the AR coating you get on reps). BOTH distort like Marrickvilleboy's top picture when viewed at an extreme angle. My PAM192 doesn't have AR, but that doesn't distort, like Marrickvilleboy's bottom picture. My Omega SMP bond style sub (which i bought the day Paul put them up for sale in February last year) acts like Marrickvilleboy's second picture, with no distortion. I'm pretty sure it has no AR coating. My electric blue SMP, shows the same distortion as Marrickvilleboy's top pic. Undestandable, as it's the same model, except the dial colour. My 42.5mm Planet Ocean (Andrew's 4th gen, which is IMO identical to Paul's), shows no distortion and faint AR coating. My 45mm Planet Ocean (Andrew's latest asian auto version) shows distortion. As a side note, when i had the movement out of the case, you could use the crystal as a magnifying glass. My conclusion. The lack of AR coating is not the reason for distortion when viewing the dial at an almost 180 degree angle. Given my experiences, it just can't be.
  18. For me, it has to be the Ferrari F40. It's Ferrari in its purest form. If i had to have a car to use everyday, then it would be the awesome F430. Put it this way. If i could afford it, i'd never drive anything that wasn't a Ferrari.
  19. Very nice. Rare to find one with correct hands these days. You might want to invest in some case clamps (they're only cheap), as your movement seems to be free to wobble around as it is currently.
  20. The watch looks genuine to me. It's got an original movement, serial number, good dial, perfect bezel. As mentioned above, it's the midsized version (36mm). The only thing that looks off to me is the bracelet. I'm guessing that that's a rep bracelet. I don't think a genuine Omega bracelet would have 1 piece end links, they'd be 3 piece (two polished pieces of metal inserted into the end link). Not to metion that i've never seen that style bracelet on a 'bond' model Seamaster before.
  21. Those all look sweet. If i get the chance, my orange PO is getting a black bezel. It looks so good, it'd be rude not to.
  22. Pics here: http://shopping.e-conveni.net/item_info.ht...ucts_id=819341& I'm far from being an expert on Pams, but i can see the crown is way off.
  23. I feel i should add myself to the cause. Only 6 more to go.
