  1. Perhaps all the best discussions are in the VIP area....
  2. Ordering your first reps is exciting! Still, I suspect what you have may be gonorrhea...
  3. DiNozzo in NCIS has graduated from a sub to an orange PO (Season 4).
  4. The nice man at customs probably gave it a little wind for you Look forward to the pics!
  5. It is confusing. For the 45mm, the most accurate reps have the 22mm lug width. For the 42mm, all the versions from the 4th gen onwards are good. With the movements, it's easier when you split it down into chrono and non-chrono movements. The 7750 are the chronos, they are more complicated, more expensive, and tend to be more likely to have problems without servicing. Some members have sworn off chronos. Swiss chronos are very expensive. Pretty much all the non-chrono movements are good. The ETA 2824 and 2836 (fairly interchangeable) are both excellent. The Asian 21J (Miyota copy) which is in most of the cheaper reps is also good. Recently in the cheap version of the Ultimate PO they introduced a 'ETA 2824 clone' which caused a bit of a ripple, it's not a clone of the 2824, and it's nothing to do with ETA. That's not to say it's necessarily better or worse than the 21J, but it was misleading and it has less of a track record amongst members here. Cheers!
  6. It's also a great way to turn friend's and family into portable aerials.
  7. Nice! Did somebody say "lume shot"?
  8. Welcome Jumbie You would have no problem pulling off the 45mm PO. I got the 42mm first for the same kind of reasoning, but the 45mm is fine. Okay, so the 49mm Railmaster XXL is beginning to push it... I think Silix has some of the best deals at the moment, especially if you get a couple of watches and split the shipping. They also have watchsilix too with some less expensive non-ETA reps. Don't forget people like Narikaa and TTK as well - they have completely different suppliers from the Chinese drop-shippers, so often some very interesting wares.
  9. Make no mistake - Sean is my god. Why the [censored] do you think I bought the outfit?! Funnily enough, I really am wearing the orange PO
  10. I have this outfit myself - for around the office, business meetings, and so on..... I'm still not sure what the best watch combination is Do you think a red Ferrari PAM too much?
  11. It's an absolute steal. Another winner from Seiko. I really like the bezel and crown: The bezel insert is probably what I would most crave to be improved. I'm definitely going to consider one of these.
  12. I just had a thought.....what if they ever busted Tanfoglio!
  13. The real lesson is to invest in a modded MBW rather than a Canal Street effort that can be spotted a mile off (I'm kidding, I'm kidding) Or in 8 modded MBW's... Yes, I think with legal representation he will reach a less expensive arrangement too.
  14. Local news report on the story (Including copies of the correspondence)
  15. The Chinese seem to have repped an entire Disneyland in Beijing - the park's slogan is "Disneyland is too far" (meaning Hong Kong). They obviously repped it from pictures, the turrets are the wrong colour and the moat is way off Peking Duck. Read more here: Chinese fake Disneyland
  16. I'm sure that just to be able to handle such an exquisite timepiece will be compensation enough for him Ah, there's an old watchsmith's trick with the quartz movements. If you remove the big shiny metal thing, and replace it with a different battery that can often be enough to get another 1-2 years out of it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a permanent fix for these movements
  17. All credit to Offshore, who unearthed and kindly donated the legendary 'No Date Datejust'. Enjoy:
  18. But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll
  19. I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o'beer....
  20. I want my TRL !! I want my TRL !! I want my TRL !!
  21. Oh, here we go. Start your engines......
