  1. Ooh, Liquore di Mahler - I'd forgotten about that! Happy Easter all
  2. This is an outstanding watch. It's not at the high end of rep prices just because the movement is Asian, so it's great value. I disagree about the strap - I think the rep comes with one of the worst straps going. So budget to get it on something beefy instead
  3. I think Thomasng has some threads about great places to get gens in Hong Kong - either window shopping or for great discounts. Enjoy Hong Kong - love it there!
  4. Has anyone else noticed that Good Friday always falls just before a weekend? Spooky. And, remind me, what's good about this Friday again? By the way, I got totally scammed at the supermarket today. COLD cross buns more like. Weren't even feckin' tepid.
  5. Moneybookers is great once you have it set up - it's not so great for impulse or urgent buying. For EU buyers it's awesome if it's linked to a bank account. Beware the fees on credit card payments, you may get slugged by both Moneybookers and your credit card for a cash withdrawal.
  6. I'll echo that - have a good one guys! Unfortunately I seem to have a monopoly on the short straw, I'll be working every feckin' day My Easter wish is for an Easter break!
  7. Honestly, you carry on like you don't remember Britain in 1982.....
  8. Happy Birthday guys! Take it away Dutchy......!
  9. FINALLY!! I was adamant that I wasn't going to get stuck in front of a screen on my day off. Did briefly look at the foot high grass in the back yard before thinking, "sod it!" So finally I got around to repairing the lume marker on this PO. The toothpick is a brilliant idea, with a little bit of white tack it was easy. Thanks for all that help. This watch has been out of action since last November (part of the bracelet fell off before the lume) - so I'm really happy to have it back in action. And glad to have a touch of AR back in my life.
  10. Surely not, Fool is too foolish to will anything. Will would never be fool enough.
  11. Thanks for the great pics and the review Stephane - this is going to be really helpful for the community to see it up close. Still a nice watch, and a substantial discount off Rolex AD retail Cheers!
  12. I have heard of this fine timepiece, but only in hushed tones, and with the deference it deserves. If I'm not mistaken, the gold for the dial was scraped from the mask of Tutankhamun, and those aren't pushers on the right - they're bongos.
  13. It's true It's missing the curve on the bottom of the number 3, in fact most of the number, if not all of it. No fear!! I have a ready-made solution Hey, it's right once a month. With the exception of September, April, June, and November. And February.
  14. There's a little less bling in the Gold Coast this morning... Cheers for them! You're right - the Timezone battery changing course is second-to-none. Don't worry, you'll be safe from Edge as long as the watches are pink. He has a thing for pink watches. @By-tor: You can't get these in Nigeria sorry. Only from one shop above Azim's Chickens in Kyzyl-Kyya, Kyrgyzstan. Ask Leonardo
  15. And on which day did God make The Krankies?! Have a great trip - and enjoy that race!!
  16. This is very exciting - I have got my first MBW Rolex, and it was FREE So tell me what you think. This was an unbelievable prize from our esteemed mod Offshore. You may recall that I won an anniversary watch competition a few weeks ago. This will go down in the annals of RWG as a gift to the community. So take a look at my pic review (dial-up modem sizzler), see it and weep..... .....with the emphasis on weep! What? You mean your kitchen doesn't look like this? Here we go.... The level of workmanship, the dial, the jewel markers. It's exquisite. I hear what you're saying.....show me that lume shot! I'm blind, I'm blind! What are the 'tells' on this watch (yes, I know my Casino Royale) First test is the hologram.... Passed! It's shiny, and a bit glittery. Just like the real thing. The movement has the famous Rolex jitter. The rotor is completely silent - very impressive. And here's the absolute kicker.... Yessssss!! I have TWO. An unbelievable gesture from Offshore - thank you!! He did in fact send me four watches, two Tags, two Rolexes. That's got to be a record! IMPORTANT Offshore was kind enough to give me these watches but he made one stipulation if I was to post pictures - if you are interested in buying these watches, please, please, please PM or email TTK asking for them What do you think guys?!
  17. You just need a spring bar tool - inexpensive and easy: (Pic taken from Narikaa's section) Good luck!
  18. Capice is out at the moment. Please leave a message, well, preferably underneath this one.
  19. This is an example of the exact problem - it ought to be a great idea, but in reality folk have their own perception of what is or isn't important in a dealer. Some crave service, some just want a watch. At the end of the day, it's got to be right for the buyer. I do remember someone put a lot of work into an Excel spreadsheet to 'score' dealers - but ultimately it comes down the individual's assessment.
