  1. The exchange rate has been a killer these past few months, less so now - who knows next week!! But still US$55 postage is mental even in US$.
  2. Hahahahahahahahaha......USD55 actual dollars to post a watch. FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS. A watch. In local currency that's AU$80 for postage right now. There are literal crack dealers that can't get away with that for postage. (But I'm not quite that desperate to be able to tell the time, if anything I already have far, far to many watches for the number of arms I have.... ) I can only assume he was once molested by a koala at a petting zoo or something. Or has some kind of Liam-Neeson-Taken-style vendetta on letting Australians catch trains and buses on time.
  3. Bears and beer?
  4. This is fantastic. What craft to be able to do that. The watch story was good, bonus drink recommendation was even better!! Interesting, they do sell it near me, but very expensive.
  5. Marooned anywhere good? Jetmid has not yet returned, but the nightwatch continues...
  6. Very cool - something seems extra great about bare feet or flip flops at midnight too. Chef's kiss. It makes me think how people further north (or south) must have made sense of the world in a very different way from near the equator. An imagined deity from near the arctic circle would be viewed as quite the ass clown down by the equator, or vice versa.
  7. A glass of Linie Aquavits is on the way to you, I gave the cask a slap on the ass, and sent it back to Norway again (To the uninitiated, it's a drink that they send to Australia to mature in the cask and then it goes back again)
  8. Wow, thanks for sharing, it's really interesting.
  9. Anyone know where it is? JEEEEEEEEEEETMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID
  10. I'm thinking this, but with a tourbillon for Baselworld 2021
  11. Send them an invoice for your design work. Soon, lavender.
  12. It's a shame that some projects almost seem worth more broken up into parts - but then I guess that's only a problem for someone looking to sell them. For me, I feel a little bit of wonderment. Like, how did I get away with this? Maybe some of the latest watch designs are just to troll the rep makers. I'm sure some watch brands throw a dart at a pantone chart each year, and then spin a wheel with tourbillon on one half, and perpetual calendar on the other.
  13. Ah, looks like 11pm "shorts weather"....
  14. I love this. There must be some steals hiding out there on these.
  15. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2020/jun/11/about-face-bright-watches-for-summer-in-pictures They have some fairly breezy suggestions to brighten up your summer. Why not, they suggest, pick up a Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph....no mention of price.
  16. We've all got to do our bit to put Trusty's kids through college....on the moon. Welcome!
  17. Ah you have me questioning why the arctic circle is on a printed map. If that's where it would be in a straight line, or in a vacuum - and earth being relatively famous for not being surrounded by vacuum, it seems an interesting line to commit to print. (That's before earth wobble). Perhaps we need a zone, or a 'vibe' of general arcticness where eye-mask headlamp combos could cover all the seasons? Perhaps also a demarcation zone of 'sleepy bears' could be more practical as well for inexperienced travellers? Love the 'Soxa'
  18. So jealous of missing the long nights from the northern hemisphere. (I was on about the same latitude as Juneau) Enjoy!!
  19. Sir Lanikai was at the all-you-can-eat ETA movement buffet
  20. Goodness, sorry to hear that. If you missed my other thread on "nipple tassels and couples therapy"..... Take it easy.
  21. Is that your tagged forum photo for a rwg.bz sale?
  22. This has been my hobby. Have a center console a bit like this but more like a bowrider at the front (and shorter). Turned the hobby into 3 gen watches. Many reps I own have a more personal attachment to them (than the gens). I'm more attached to the story behind behind them, often the strap, or the crystal or whatever. Like many here from years ago, I have some very cool watches sitting around. Much harder to get these now. We all used to dine out on ETA movements like Russian oligarchs on cheap caviar.
  23. Whoa! You mean this? Which I think honours this aviation pedigree? Same with the exchange rate too, that has an impact.
  24. Having just looked on YouTube for men wearing nipple tassels, I think I may have made a terrible mistake....
