  1. Same thing happened when the garbage man tried to do this at my house. Rocks and a bit of RAHRRRR did the trick....
  2. I hear Epcot built a life sized replica of the nut in question.
  3. Oh no, that's awful news. I remember one drinking session with Alan in particular when we met up. He had lots of great tales from his speedboat and boat buying days. From memory he'd narrowly escaped being in a fatal speedboat crash once, he'd been due in the boat that day or something, it ended up flipping and killing the occupants. He was a man of great integrity. Still processing that news.
  4. "Day 22: I've successfully conditioned my master to smile and write in his notebook every time I drool." Pavlov's Dog
  5. Cats has told us for many years to live the day. This is gut wrenching news. As a wise man once told me, life is the ripple we make in the water. If just a small part of Bert's ripple can make us take the chance, go for it, kiss the girl (maybe not if you're already married), do something that takes it on-board, then it's a big impact from just one man. A big ripple we can all make from his advice. Raising a glass to you Bert....
  6. We're back for 2014!! Will we have a Black Friday bonanza? Or a repeat of 2013's .....
  7. Your composure and courage in the face of adversity has been an inspiration for years even before this news. In as much as bad weather is on the horizon, I hope every single moment of sunshine is a wonder for you. A wise man once told me that life is the ripple you make in the lake, and here we are around the world, learning from you. My thoughts are with your entire family. Take good care of yourself and them. And then pull a rabbit from a hat.
  8. Good to see you MOP. Verbal, that's a great insight on the rust thing, that should be a post on its own if it isn't already. Big time issue. Also interested to hear more about the blue liquid metal from people if they have any comparison insight.
  9. A bit late, but this is a lovely photo.
  10. Doing very well thank you! Have to catch up soon.
  11. I couldn't log on, but if it's 13 I assume it's like this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ7a3HGnS1I
  12. With Summer approaching* (disclaimer, not summer for half of planet) it is time for a Nanuq StyleTM EXTREME WATCH TEST. Tests to be conducted include: RAGING TRIAL BY FIRE (Technically trial by pizza oven) TRIAL BY LAND ROVER AND MORE... All we need now is a watch that is up to the task. I've had them all, Polexes, Pamerais, Omegles and Bratlings, few would have been up to this task. Straight from Guangzhou or some such place I bring you, a watch as strong as a tree, because it kind of is a tree.... BEHOLD THE 100% SPLINTER FREE: THE 2014 LOGJUST TEST 1: HERE WE GO, THE EASY STUFF First up, trial by fire. The results are in.... TEST 2: TRIAL BY LAND ROVER The remnants of the watch were driven over by a Land Rover, let's see how they do. Close up: That's a little inconclusive. (Scientific note: it is possible that the watch sample at this point may have been contaminated by surrounding material). TEST 3: DEEP WATER SCUBA TEST SIMULATION Starting depth, six inches. TEST 4: DOG ATTACK CONCLUSION: I would have liked to have conducted further tests with this watch to evaluate its suitability for extreme scenarios such as desk diving, watching TV, drinking, and fist waving at drivers. Not recommended for professional bakers IMHO.
  13. Ah, dammit, did I miss some sweet spam?
