  1. Quick answer - no it's not worth that. The Asian movement is considered good if you factor in a service at some point. Or if you want Swiss it's probably less expensive to source the movement elsewhere and have it fitted for you. And of course you could end up with a great Swiss movement, but a whole bunch of other quality control headaches with the rest of the watch.
  2. What, no condoms? Either we're not getting laid, she's on the pill, or the procreation prospects of us rep collectors is strong as an ox... Besides, the pill is only 99.9% effective. You can't beat those odds (Says proud dad....)
  3. That's why I wondered if it was packed by an eeijit. VB gives me a terrible headache...the beer I mean...
  4. You should have no problem finding that. Speak perhaps to Kenberg (on TRC) or Ruby or Sashwatch. Alternatively, ioffer has a lot of this stuff but has a lot of scam artists - be careful with the reputation of the seller. Best of luck - and hope she earns a real Tiffany one day!!!
  5. Is Andrew offering to install it for you? I figured that was just for the crystal and shipping. Do put the word out there, there are a few of these crystals floating around. Or, as you say, you could flip what you have to someone more savvy and just buy a replacement. Or the seller could step up and mitigate the problem perhaps if it was mineral or packed by an eeijit. At the end of the day, the straps are the expensive bit anyway
  6. I thought Davidsen's crystal was $65, or is that price years out of date? Another member might also have one for trade.
  7. It is also conceivable that it was sold to the seller as sapphire, but that it's mineral. I think quite a few were. The issue of exploding fiddy's is also a real one (with sapphire). You're having some [censored] luck! As for replacements, if you take that road, I think DavidsenJPN would be a better route.
  8. Lame duck thread.....? Or FLAME DUCK THREAD?!!! :fireman: You be the judge...
  9. I think you're just a shill for ugly duck!
  10. Hey, duck.... Don't make me bring out the orange sauce biyatch.... !!
  11. Did you have a particular bracelet in mind? The quality varies a lot. Also bear in mind that Italian customs is good at catching imports, you might want to read up on the experiences of fellow Italian members. I have to say too - when it comes to buying gifts for women, buying real Tiffany's will make you VERY, VERY popular Unless of course she's only a short term girlfriend or a mistress, then a rep will do!
  12. Great pictures! Agree too that the journey from reps leads to gens.
  13. Usil's way is absolutely right. For mine (not an UPO), once the pin was on it's way with the removal tool, I knocked in a removed pin back into the other side to get both half way if that's another possible option for you. I should hasten to add, take the bracelet completely off the watch, all this banging isn't great for it. Taking to a professional for $10 is an absolute bargain.....as long as they are an actual professional. I took one to a watch place, paid, and they bust the clasp and generally buggered the whole thing up (bracelet later fell apart). Some of the mall guys are a waste of time...
  14. No, because it's in Japanese They're gens: Pensite translated
  15. Yeah, I'd like to find reps of those too, but I guess gens will have to suffice in the meantime! I'm a ballpoint heathen though
  16. Very interesting - cheers! I don't think the rep makers have cracked the black resin properly yet, most of the reps are poor. On the gen front I find MB very podgy and fat, probably something to do with bigger ink reservoirs. I like the Caran D'Ache though, I might get one of those (seem to be mostly mechanical pencils though).
  17. Paul drop ships, so there is no QC from him. That you got any post-sales service is perhaps a minor miracle. With Paul, you drop your dollars and take your chances. If you want a watch in the mail, you'll get one. If you want post sales service, that comes at a premium. It's an insurance policy if you like, but of course, it's not free. C'est la vie.
  18. I'll swap you a Citizen for it!! Great watch you have!!
