  1. thanks folks the greatest thing about UN is that nonbody seems to know the brand or the value
  2. I think flav's is one of the newer ones - you can tell by the more accurate markers on the bezel...they might fall off since they are not screwed in but they are more accurate the the noes the Watchhonpo version
  3. The crown looks like it has less teeth than the gen, the crown guard lever end point is not curved like the gen or other replicas for that matter - I will further illustrate with my own pictures once I recieve the watch - the pictures could show a prototype, at least I am hoping they do
  4. My taste changes constantly and I am getting tired of watches that I had for a while and than of course there is all the new nice watches coming out from our dealers....At any given point in time I always felt that I am missing at least one watch for a certain occasion. I thought getting a couple of gens will get me to having the perfect collection, but than I realized that that wasn't the answer either...I am such a junkie...I want more and more and more. I think it is human nature to go after what your passionate about and just never quite get to the end goal of really being 100% satisfied. A great example was my genuine Panerai purchase, after I had it I immediately looked into other models and vintage pieces. man it is a course and over time an expensive one - but at the same time it is a lot of fun
  5. before you get your hopes up too much I wanted to point out that the crown and crownguard look incorrect - at least on the pictures I have seen...I will let you know once I recieve the watch if we have a winner here
  6. had issues with the first one I received - but the one that I got as a replacment has been running strong and felt very solid even when setting the GMT hand, etc. You can forget about seeing any replicas with 7754 movements unless of course the Chinese rep the 7754
  7. I will receive mine from Angus either tomorrow or on Friday - will post pictures right after I received it....
  8. this seems to be a great idea - let's see if the dealers can agree on standard terminology a lot of suggestions have been made already - like: - the term AR should always be a real AR coating and not something like light AR or just a tint on the crystal - sapphire crystal, mineral crystal, plastic crystal - those are the 3 possible grades AFAIK needless to call sapphire "synthetic" and actually mean mineral no need to go on here since it all has been discussed numerous times. Dealers: please help getting clarity about what you are actually selling and please stop using missleading terms...
  9. I will post here once all the details are finalized - please PM me once you are committed to join us
  10. I was semi serious with my reply - I think it is not very wise to offer details as to where a watch is shipped from or where it is going to, in a public forum...remember we are talking illegal goods here
  11. Funny that you mention Eddie in this context - he was the master of over-hyping and overpricing the new hot watches I always paid more when I wanted to have the watch right away and I knew what I was doing. I am sure the same thing will happen here: once the "must have it now" crowd is saturated the prices will go down, but I am willing to bet that you won't see that quality for under $200 or even close to that mark anytime soon. Furthermore I believe that the dealers will not be able to do any sort of price fixing in particular once the makers start getting dissatisfied with the run rates. If we believe that the 4 dealers mentioned here are the makers only channel we are sadly mistaken...
  12. in case you wonder how Flav and V knew - one tell tale sign is that the second tick marks are pointing towards the outside rather than the inside, there is more, but most of it can be fixed by modding - here is a pic of the rep
  13. that's what I call a first post - well done and a warm welcome...and since we are at it...don't look at what is coming now...I told you to not look...you are still looking We will make you a Panerai addict in no time
  14. don't be surprised if you never receive that watch...customs is watching us If I were a customs agent I would have a field day reading posts like this...stop giving them details
  15. that's quite normal - I had it a couple of times already where the tracking info was available the day I received the watch - China EMS tracking is known to be inaccurate
  16. just ordered another watch and a couple of Montblanc pens to get me thru Chinese New Year for those who need a fix: I got a couple of Panerai's for sale in the trade section
  17. Hi Rolli, why would you do that? The 7754 is a chrono movement with GMT unless of course you want to strip the chono functions to have a perfect 775x GMT movement Just an FYI for everybody else: Panerai is using a modified 7750 with GMT function in their GMT watches and not a 7754
  18. you have a good point here: not all 28.800bph movements are equal in terms of how smooth they run - a lot depends on how accurate the gears are manufactured, etc; and yes Rolex makes some of the best movements out there - reliable, accurate, smooth - such a shame that I jut can't get myself to like the design
  19. this one is incredibly bold - everything from the COSC certificate, outer cardboard box sticker to the watch is fake...I have reported the guy...but we know eBay, they probably won't do S#$t http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1
  20. you should get in touch with Finepics - he has done great mods for the UK based members here...just search the members directory
  21. Hi Ultra - welcome to this great community! Davidsen can be found in the accessories dealer section of this forum
  22. welcome and enjoy your stay...you gotta be kidding though with your Fossil request
  23. very nice collection aren't those genuine Breitling straps the greatest!? I have 3 - thanks for sharing
