I would look at either the Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTI great review here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos400d/
or the Nikon D40 or D50 - all of them are well below the $1000 mark
I think another way to look at this is the fact is that it is hard to replicate any watch that doesn't come with standard movements - meaning ETA parts.
Yes they have repped the AP ROO, Rolex Daytona, etc, but they are either inaccurate copies or work for [censored] - sorry for my french here
Started with the Sinn U2 this morning
and than HURRAY call from my AD that my Panerai is back - picked up a beautiful Riva Strap while I was at it and for the next couple of days I won't wear anything else!!
enjoy
I am sending my watches of to The Zigmeister tomorrow and he told me that he would ship the crystals to HauteHippie directly - I don't know exactly when The Zigmeister will get to removing and sending them, but you can count on 5-7 from me.
that's what the Chinese replica industry calls it??? WTF!!
An ETA2892 is and ETA 2892 if it is not than call it something else for crying out loud - the one pictured above in Finepics post looks like a total piece of junk worth about $5
the big advantages of a SLR are:
- interchangeable lenses and filters - well you get screw on filters/adapters for some point and click ones too
- bigger imaging sensor, which doesn't mean more pixels but more space for the individual pixels resulting in less noise and better image fidelity and detail
- fully manual mode and more settings - some higher end point and clicks have that too
If you consider now that you can get into a Digital SLR for roughly $600-800 it might well be worth the investment
very nice and unbelievable what sort of pictures can be taken with a camera in a phone - the 89 looks much better than I thought it would. Now if they only would add that stupid marker at the 9 and udpate the GMT hand
thanks for sharing and the excellent picture comparison.
The Aquaracer Chronos are nice too but I would really like the 2000 Aquagraph, I doubt though that they will be able to rep the 2000 Aquagraph with the large minute stop hand. The Twintime's are OK but not a must have for me...
Hi Rolli - great pictures as usual!
I have been contemplating about getting this one, but couldn't get myself to pull the trigger. I was concerned that the Asian movement might crap out on me and that there is a white/silver border around the date. Would you please let us know how it is holding up and it would be great if you could take a closeup photo of the date.
thanks and cheers
LP
thanks Angus and yes please we need the ultimate carbon strap
old 7750v1 - I do have a couple of Swiss7750s lying around and am thinking about having it put in
