Official Hublot site showing josh/andrews pics
jfreeman420 replied to P4GTR's topic in General Discussion
Those are all stock pics from the manufacturer. They could have gotten them anywhere. As for action being brought against our dealers, don't make me laugh. These guys are somewhere in China amongst thousands of fake watch dealers and millions of fake watches. They are untouchable by mr Biver who is located somewhere in Switzerland. If anything could be done, GAF and Rolex would have done it long ago. BTW, looking at those side by side comparisons makes me realize we need to ge the factory to upgrade the winding rotor. It looks horrible next to the gen.. -
Beautiful pics. Makes me think I need a vacation. You have a wonderful woman that doesn't mind you taking pics of your watches on vacation. Mine calls me a nerd everytime I take a watch pic.

Insurance policies are usually untouchable.

Florida is great since you are able to "homestead" your house. It is virtually untouchable by lawsuits or seizures. If you live elsewhere, trusts are the most popular option. Usually real estate or other holdings are put into a trust with a family member or child being the beneficiary but not able to claim full ownership without consent. Offshore trusts were popular in the Cayman islands but with the patriot act these type of accounts have become not as safe. Other ways to protect yourself are through anonymous share bearer corporations. A good attorney can set you up with one for around $1,500. This would be formed in a country such as Belize. The corp can then be used to open a bank account offshore in a country such as Antigua. This is all speculative information and complete heresay. I have only heard of people doing these things.

Who said anything about my bling being fake? I do own genuine bling as well V. I will be there the week of thanksgiving. Plan to play at the Wynn a couple of days. I will let you know which watch I will be wearing you can stop by and say hello.

It's a good thing he didn't try to pass it off as a gen. Keep in mind 90% of the population who buy fake watches buy them as a gag. It's sort of like a shady little piece of black market goods that give people a sense of danger. That same 90% of people would never dream of spending $300 or more on a fake watch. They would be more than content with a genuine seiko. We are in the great minority of the WIS.

You beat me to it Andy................. I usually bring two watches to Vegas. One blinged and the other super blinged. Lots of bling is intimidating at the poker table. Makes you look as though you could care less about the money.

RWG Radio - online talkshow with callers?
jfreeman420 replied to Admin's topic in General Discussion
Maybe we can get an interview with that Jean-Claude Biver guy -
Can you explain this? The subdial spacing isn't that of a sec@6 daytona. Did you install a zenith movement in this or did the dealer you bought it from tell you that? Where was it bought? You can contact andrew from his website.

How Remove bezel from BCE EVO ultimate ?
jfreeman420 replied to Defender110's topic in The Breitling Area
The screws are functional on the BCE. Be careful. -
If this is maybe a mistake it would be a very collectable piece.
-
A few gen Breitlings there? Nice. Let's see the whole shabang!!!

My summation: Genuine case, possibly genuine bracelet. Diamonds added aftermarket and maybe genuine dial with aftermarket diamonds taken from an oysterquartz.

Just my 2 cents here, I think the baggy pants ban is racist and targeted towards young black males since they are the predominant group with this kind of style. JMHO. Georgia is in the bible belt and is known for it's ultra conservative views. I still don't think religion, the bible, or moral views have any place in any form of government. This is the exact kind of thinking that is slowly stripping us of our freedoms. Religion and morality are forms of opinion. Laws should be based on fact. No offence to anyone here, but of all the places I have traveled, Atlanta is my least favorite. I really cannot stand this entire area. If I never visit Georgia again it will be too soon.

Be careful with cheap AR coating. I had it done on my prescription Cartier eyeglasses for $99 with transition lenses. The coating started to spot and wear off after a while. Very annoying. I recently had them redone sans AR coating. I have taken them to Pearle vision and they told me about a coating named Crizal. This is supposed to be the best in the industry and goes for around $150 per 2 lenses. I asked them about watch crystals and they said no problem as long as they weren't installed in a watch. Would run $75 per crystal.

I would have this already if it weren't for other jewelry purchases this month. I have been going crazy buying gold lately. Congrats.

This one was only $200 inc. shipping from Ruby. The best bang for your buck IMO.

It is amazing that we only see VIP members supporting. There are many regualrs here who have received many benefits from the board and have never upgraded. It would be nice to see a few just kick in a little once. You have a boyfriend? Many dreams have been shattered. We would never get along anyway considering you like the silent type.......

I sent you some since I didn't last month. Wish I could do more T. Check your pm. I have some interesting news about pp for ya. J

@TTK: I remember a discussion a while back that had to do with you wearing sandals. Well, these are the first thing that came to my mind that would complete your end of summer ensemble along with that watch....

That ebay auction is the first peek I have had up close to this new design. I like the new clasp. Not only does it have a flip lock, but the foldover is actually made of 2 pieces. It is spring loaded not just pressure clipped into place like the old oyster bracelets. This is following the lead of the Rolesor clasp on the more recent day dates. Another good innovation by Rolex. The dial is but ugly however. I hope the rep makers get a good rep of this clasp soon. It will probably be the standard on all Rolex models if it isn't already.

When I first started collecting reps I went all out. Rep boxes, genuine boxes and all accessories. I soon realized they were all collecting dust and I had no use for them. I ended up selling everything and buying more watches. Just my opinion.

i'm trying to figure out quality at 1:25 price scale (rep/gen)
jfreeman420 replied to anton's topic in General Discussion
The retail price of products is directly related to a few things. First of course is research and development. Many companies spend millions of dollars researching and testing a product before releasing it for sale. An example of this related to replicas is probably the cost of purchasing a genuine watch, disassembling it and replicating all the parts. Movements in high end watches take years to develop and involve very complicated engineering and hand assembly. Marketing is the second or first largest cost. Since replica manufacturers have little or no marketing expense the products can be produced a lot cheaper. It is very costly to build a brand and generate a demand for that product. Limited editions are more expensive because the marketing costs are the same but there are less to sell. The limited additions also add to the brand awareness and worth. Let's face it, weather replicas are similar or spot on they will never be anywhere near as good as their genuine counterparts. On the same note, the raw production and material cost for a genuine watch is nowhere near the retail price. Many swiss watches are hand assembled by master watch makers and their Asian replicas are thrown together in someones living room by inexperienced people sometimes children. Parts on genuine watches that don't pass the quality control are discarded while many are installed into reps. Although replica watches are a good value and fun to wear, they will never take the place of a genuine watch with strict quality control and a warranty. On that same note is a genuine really worth the money? Sometimes. I have never bought a genuine watch new. I prefer to have someone else absorb the depreciation. I also only buy cars that are one or two years old. Is a replica worth the money? Sometimes as well. If you constantly nit pick and expect a $200 watch to deliver the same performance and durability as a $20,000 counterpart don't buy one. Once you handle a genuine you will never be satisfied with a rep no matter how "super" or "ultimate". If you can spend $200 or $300 on a watch and see it a s a novelty and enjoy it for what it is then yes they are worth every penny. Just don't plan on passing your ultimate Hublot Big Bang down to your grand kids. I am happy if I get a years worth out of a replica. I always expect to get every dime back from a genuine I purchase if I ever choose to sell it. Keep in mind when you look at a rep and a genuine side by side they are only almost identical asthetically. There is a lot of engineering that goes into the movement and case of a genuine watch that is not present in the replica. If you are only concerned about asthetics a rep should do just fine. If you are concerned with performance only a genuine will do. Would you rather drive a genuine Ferrari or a kit car based on a Pontiac Fiero? In summation: Genuine: Buy pre-owned and as long as you have one you will never be broke. Replica: Disposable watch. -
I have to disagree with you about South Florida not being a watch town. I have lived in Miami, Hollywood, Hallandale, Ft Lauderdale and now in Palm Beach. High end watches are everywhere. I see waiters and car salesmen wearing rep Rolexes all the time. In south beach you are hard pressed to find someone without a luxury watch. Ft Lauderdale has the highest per capita sales of Ferrari's anywhere in the world. Do you think Ferrari owners are wearing Timex's? This is a very image consious region. Along with the high end cars, houses and jewelry comes watches. I get my taste for bling and Rolexes from working in Miami. I have been in sales since I was 15 years old. I have seen all the managers and owners of companies I worked for show lots of flash. Rolex, Panerai, Franck Muller, etc. One guy I worked for gave each of his closers and managers a Cartier Santos for Christmas. I think he bought 15 in all. The owner of one company I worked for was friends with the guy who was the wholesaler to Mayors. He used to come to the office regularly to peddle his watches. I have seen him with over $200,000 in inventory on his person and I could only guestimate that my boss' collection was worth over $500,000. I knew once I could afford it I would have a nice watch collection as well. Yes I have purchased many genuine watches in addition to the reps I own.
