  1. BRAVO!!!!!! Incredible...and I thought I was bad and obsessed. I have a new hero!
  2. Its wierd that the genuine, touted as a marine quality watch, is only WR rated for 100M. What's up with that?
  3. Fake teenage gymnasts winning gold medals...spray painted grass...phony fronts built on decaying houses...this Olympics is a tribute to the Chinese art of manipulated reality. Long live our fake brothers...bring on the watches!!!!
  4. For obvious reasons, no one obsesses over consistancy in genuines but as been illustrated here many times, the genuine article doesn't hold up to the critical assessment we subject replicas to. The operational quote here is "All reps have flaws"...the fact is if you expect every model in a particular genuine line to be exactly the same...they all have flaws too.
  5. VC has long standing bracelet problems...soft screws...stripping...lots of horror stories. It's a beautiful watch but...
  6. Not voluntarily but I did think a crackdown on illegal activities, especially the one that China is known best for, would be effective and swift during this international event. As someone posted here years ago...when it comes to getting things done...no one does it better than the Chinese. If they decided to eradicate the flow of IP counterfeits as a serious national policy, all of this would be gone in a few short days.
  7. Here's a radical idea...why dont you put aside $100-$150/month for those 9 months and get a genuine????
  8. Well you do get an excellent replication of the ETA workhorse. Ziggy has reviewed the unaltered version many times and vouches for its mechanical soundness and robustness once serviced. The question is, is $400 every 7 years for a quality service worth it in a replica. As for my Navitimer, which has had custom work to make it close to perfect...yes it is as would be a standard service or the movement in my MBW which carries a significant investment of aftermarket parts and work. As for my SFSO???? I dont think so...I agree with those who suggested just pitch it and start new. BTW...have 2 21 jewel Seikos...a diver and a Folex President. One is 11 years old...the other 15. They both run like tops accurate to about 15 seconds a day. Why can't the swiss do this?
  9. Well, let me explain my question a little better...and it appears the point is moot because apparently there's been little interruption in business of our dirty little secret...which is surprising. This event was supposed to be a watershed event in China's history where they demonstrate their status as a major world player. The opening spectacular was like no other public entertainment performance that I have ever seen. There has been much made of China's intent to keep this international event moving perfectly. I would think, included in that effort, would be a major crackdown on IP infringement production and public sales. It would subvert their claim of being a new international, capitalist power with half the Olympic teams going home with fake Microsoft Office CDs and suitcases stuffed with fake Rolexs. Apparently, our guys are dug in real deep!
  10. Anyone having issues with the typical pipelines now that the eyes of the world are on China?
  11. This article is about the $35 canal street rep, not the watches we have access to. The author knows nothing of the high end replica business. When I showed my fake Navitimer to my Jeweler, a Rolex and Breitling distributor, she looked at it and called her assistant manager over and said "Jesus Christ...look at how good this fake is". Doesnt sound like an "anyone can spot it from 20 feet away" scenario to me.
  12. Nice to be back. Looking forward to spending some money again.....
  13. Statistical anomaly...you lucky SOB!!!!
  14. The ETA stamp on the base plate means NOTHING. There are many examples of Asian built movements on genuine ebauches from ETA. I don't know how anyone would justify bidding on the second one. The pic is from an ad not pictures of the actual movement being sold. Would you buy a car on ebay if they showed you a picture from Chrysler's website of the vehicle and not the actual auto???
  15. Is Neil officially retired or is there a Bret Farvre comeback laying in wait
  16. You'll be back...enjoy the respite...but I agree with Corgi. Anyone so totally soaked in this addiction cannot give it up. See you in a bit. BTW, that avitar is the best advertisement for understated, tastefully done fake boobs ever. Who needs plastic dolls with casaba mellon sized baloons pasted to their chests. She's just perfect!
  17. Not true...the gearing additions to swap around the subdials put more stress on the asian 7750 drive train than it can handle from a basic engineering standpoint and most of them do not work out of the box or will break down shortly thereafter. They are not oiled because the additional drag added by protective lubrication in the jewel points often puts them over ther top in terms of drag. That's how marginally functional these watches are.
  18. Haven't been to RWG in a couple of months because of work responsibilities. Damn boards...I just missed the cutoff from a lifetime exemption grandfathered in. Gotta do this crap every 10 years. When I last joined the peanut gallery here, we were battling over membership contributions, the affordability of Tourbis, QC and high prices etc... Did I miss anything or should I pick up right where we left off!!!?
  19. "Staph" meeting today A few coag negatives, MRSAs and MSSAs and....MBWGW I think I should wash it before I put it back on!
  20. A watchmaker who is willing to work on replicas is valuable indeed to this community but it would be worthwhile to know what kind of skills we are talking about here. I'll give you an example of what Ziggy provides. Last year, I bought a Breitling Navitimer that had the dreaded "backwards B" on the chrono second hand. I recieved a replacement hand from the dealer and shipped the watch off to Z. The tube on the replacement hand was too short (it was probably for a Nav with the std 12,9,6 layout) and unuseable. Ziggy somehow removed the tube from the defective hand and attached it to the corrected hand, installed it, and now the watch looks perfect. Not only that, but the hand hasn't a scratch or a mar on it under 10X loupe examination. Ziggy not only posesses the baseline skills of being able to tear down and rebuild complicated movements, but he does it with great care to not damage screw heads, scratch bridges etc...He is a true artisan in every sense of the word who has very high standards in his work. As I'm writing this, I realize just how fortunate we are to have him serve a replica community. That's what we're used to here...I guess we're spoiled. I suppose anyone who can competently service a mechanical movement would be welcome.
  21. Will you guys please edit these posts to get rid of the link!!!!!!!!!! The reasons the moderators had it accessable to supporters with a positive and trustworthy history as a HIDDEN message is that someone screwed with the old PP account and hence our current problems. PROMOTERSF PLEASE EDIT YOUR POST!!!
  22. Please...never make the dealers responsible for the financial viability of this site. No matter how good the intentions of the current administrative team, if we put the dealers in charge of our economic well being here, this place will become replicacenter.com in short order.
  23. Oh my God!......Cringe
  24. Thank you...I wish I was there
